I've got a set of belted X-patterns you can use next Sunday (the 10th), if you need them.

Personal preference my friend. Some people who run 200mm bodies like the larger offset (2-6mm) for a more realistic look. I personally run 0 offset on all my rims. You can always use larger hexes or wheel spacers if you want to move them out some.

I am using the 2014 spec Ride tire. Last few pages has plenty of info on it. It's 24mm wide and it is recommended to run 24mm rims. You can mount them on 26mm rims if you like and some people say that works fine. 100 sets of the ride tires were sold out in less then a week when this was announced to be the spec tire for next year. So I am not sure if any place has them in stock ATM. They should be restocked in a week or so.

Most people people run the HPI x-patterns. Belted if you can find them. Not sure what else to tell ya.

Hey Brent, I was sitting across from you at the Halloween classic.

If your going to be running your A700 and a Protoform camaro 190mm ,then you want to use 0 offset rims . The plus 3mm are for mostly running 200mm bodies on a 190mm touring car . plus 6 and 9mm wheels are mostly used on drift cars .

As far as tires, the common tire used is the HPI X-pattern . Pro compounds are mostly used on asphalt and D-compounds are mostly used on carpet . Most were on D-compounds at the Classic. The new tire in the game is a RIDE 24025 tire ,which is going to be the spec tire at big races . It is only available at RCmart (overseas) or Gravity RC in the states . Right now both places are out of stock . But should be in stock within two weeks . Rim width is 26mm on X-patterns and 24mm on RIDE's

Hope this helps , Ray

PS ,38degs timing works better on a Sonic !!! lol

I have a new pair of belted X-patterns for sale. NIP.

I like the spec tire idea for next year. Way too much has been put into the wheel thing. It should be about the racing. I'd run white dish wheels if I could, but it's all the same.

Thank you very much for the replies this is what i needed to know.

I also like the idea of spec tire, I wish the Grand Slam folks would go this route for there rubber tire classes it makes things so much simpler and puts everyone on more of an even playing field.

I have only ran 3mm offset but I feel it takes away from traction a little ( wider track width was a tuneing choice I used to use in vta with my old top photon few yrs back ) so bits hard to rap my head around the idea of wider offsets having the same feel on the track . with the new spec tire I have them mounted on old jaco spec wheels (referbished ) and intisopate them to work very well might even have to change setup since I have tuned the car on X patterns . I will feel the difference Sunday

I only bought new one set of the tamiya tires for the Trackside races. I would love to see a spec carpet tire only for TCS! Back to USGT I am really looking to run this class. I hope within two weeks! My ride will be TCS legal for the most part!
