Nice !! So another nice treaded option at 26mm. It'll be great if they start offering different offset wheels but I imagine if somebody really wanted to, they could debond the tires and put them on a different wheel. Great news !!

Dino,

Also, just an FYI...

The inserts seem to be like the HPI inserts, open foam ( though I have not ripped one open yet ). The rubber is relatively soft, so lets see how they work.

Please keep us updated. Hopefully they work out pretty good.

So Far, so good,

The Blast Off Tires worked pretty good. They felt very close to the HPI X Pro Belted. We had 4 different cars running them last night, and wear was very good. But as a disclaimer, we get excellent wear out of all tires are our track.

We are going to continue to asses different solutions to our tire problem. Have some more tires on the way already.

Seeing that running HPI X-Patterns is what makes this HPI RCGT (the name of the thread) perhaps the alternative tire conversation should be in one of the other "RCGT" threads.

Sounds promising. Where can I purchase one so I can try it out on our track?

Do you have any pics of your car with the new rims/tires?

Actually Pete, the news about the Blast Offs is fine. I'm glad they offer another option for any club that wishes to work within the limits of the new rules.
Just please keep in mind that this is a club option and "RCGT" can't be advertised for any structured series or event without using the recognized RCGT standard tire.
Our club is actually leaning toward 26mm slicks so I'm making arrangements with another manufacturer to see what compounds work best. I'll comment on results.

Here is a pic.. Not sure if that is a 190 or 200mm body, but the wheels are shimmed 1mm on each side.

Crappy Iphone pic.

If you like test a set of the ones we ran last night, I can send them to you. Shoot me a PM.

Thats great news guys !! Hope they work out well for everybody.
We'll be testing 3 of the compounds available from the company producing 26mm slicks. Hopefully they'll work out well also. Who knows, maybe HPI will end up providing another option before to long also.

Has anyone tried the Traxxas 26mm premounts that come with the Nitro 4Tec or the Traxxas option Protrax premount slicks?

Yes they blow up when used for speed runs with the 3.3 engine but they provided pretty good traction and wear when used with the lower power .15 but I wonder how they are on a road course track.

Very nice looking wheels though.

Has anyone tried the Integy X2 tires? If so, how do they compare to HPI's. The tread pattern is the same but I'm curious about the compound.
