As The most Important today is Firmware related to ESC

I definitely agree with you that this is a problem. One thing to keep in mind, is that manufacturers still have a lot to learn from this "first generation" of upgradable/configurable products. The current software interfaces are very basic. Hopefully the software and overall user experience will improve as the products mature.

I see some things never change. When I started in electric helisback in 2003, Castle was my first choice for ESCs. After burning up three in a row while never leaving the ground, I gave up on them. I will say this in their defense: They did honor their warranty with no questions asked. However, after the third one, I sold the replacement on eBay and switched brands.

Now that I am going to try my luck at cars, I thought I'd give them another go. After reading this thread I doubt it.

Whatever the percentage may be, the only alternative is not to have firmware upgrades that would then mean 100% of these ESC's needing replacement. Surely no one would really argue that firmware upgrades don't benifit the racer?

until now The Speed Passion Product Has not returned Yet.
it's been 2 Month Of Repair, since 20 April.
And King Golden (Speed Passion) don't have abilities to Reflash firmware.
to recovered the Firmware Damaged.
Note: the Hardwares is no Problem. only Software(firmware) damaged.
Speed Passion did not accept Warranty.
and they send it back to the factory in China,
there they either offer a CPU Replacement for the solution, for
unbroken CPU, only to replace the Firmware (Software).
(Ridiculous).

a bit late that
2010-06-14 14:17 Final delivery

From Speed Passion KG HK,
the delivery takes only about 1 day shiping.
but the Services Process takes about 2 month
since 2010-04-20.

The result is, they replace it with the new ones with cost 25USD
per each, although there is no broken CPU since last time it was shipped,
to SpeedPassion at KG HK. and wasn't cause of burned.
this Warranty, ain't free.
So, the fact is they didn't able to fix the firmware (software),
unlike Team Wave that can do it your self (method).

but hey, they replace it all with a fresh ones.

So, Speed Passion After Sales Service is replacing the Controller and the LCDPRO with new one,... and still add additional parts included,
Which is good Point for Speed Passion Services.

Speed Passion Show us how they Solved this way for Damaged Firmware.
for 25.
*Note: 25USD is the price if you burn your controller or LCD.
