This makes graph the result in which I experimented before.
If current is lowered in order by MPCM (3 stage charge), the temperature of a battery will not go up.

Of course, I used the same battery and the same cutoff volt in these experiments

With the linear current of 5A, the temperature of a battery exceeded 50C at the time of a charge end. However, if MPCM is used, the temperature of a battery will come near 45C.
if MPCM is used , It is possible to shorten charge time, without raising temperature. See attached graph.

Of course, patterns other than this can also be performed by Pro-Trak. For example, there are a method of raising current in order or a way only 2 stage lower current.

Hi Kiyano,

Intersting graphs. Is there any effect on discharge stats? voltage, capacity etc?

I have not verified the data of discharge in detail yet.
However, the meaningful improvement was not found at
discharge. pro-trak is the only charger which can conduct such an advanced experiment. It is this that I wanted to say.

Thankyou Kiyano, good info. Speaking to Phil today he, is doing some really good experimental stuff on cell performance. People propose a lot of theories, I have only know Phil ever to try them out and get hard data.

I hope in the near future to get a cheap laptop so I run your program at meetings just to demonstrate what the Pro trak can do for people. You are both doing great work recently.

Chris.

Kiyano if you get the chance please check out this thread

http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthre...threadid=42265

I was having a conversation with a few racers about the effects of voltage drop in the wires etc. I finished an experiment last weekend to measure this @30A (with a Pro Trak). Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Chris.

Crimson Eagle - how did you pick that name Chris???

Thought you might like to see my proto type to aid vision on the pit table.

The new version with built in stand does fine now.

I've used Pro-Traks since version (cant even remember) and will never change!
As Phil's old logo used to say - 'Simply the best'

I think you only can buy the Protrak from Protrak UK or from Crimson Eagle in the USA.

Hi Big G, that certainly works. I used to race at the Durham club about 6 years ago when they were at the school. That was a great club with a great venue and some really nice people . Does Bill Allison Still Race? Did he ever get his hair cut? I've the Pro Trak since early '96 I think, version 5.something. They were the best then and they are still the best now.

I pcked the name from a book I read about 7 years ago by Raymond Fiest, can't remember the exact title, but this name is what what introduced me to my wife, she like it so she PM'd me and the rest is history.

How did you get the text to work upside down?

Chris please get in touch with me

tres cool job with the plates

kiyano please see if youocan put some sort of time reference in the graph section of the pro trak monitor program. Also would be nice to be able to save the graphs for individual cells.

thanks,
John

Tre's,

it's not quite that easy, the pro trak is design for the components to fit in the orientation "normally" Having them the other way around will cause some problems, I was wondering if he did it himself or sent it back for the manufacturer to do it.

John, Thank you for your input.
I am improving the program now. The next version will be announced by the timing by which 30 A pro-trak is released.
It can use also by 20A unit. However, it is necessary to purchase the newest ROM. When a program is released, it is due to announce which version should be used.

This program is the first work for me. Therefore, the speed of development is slow However, I am going to apply feedback got from you
