TN Racing 958 axle setup can only work on older R12 axles. If you own a C3, C3.1 it won't work.

Default chassis

Is the R12-02C chassis as wide at the front as R12-02W chassis? And is R12-03.1 narrower?

I'm looking to get into 1/12. I have always been a Yokomo fan. Where can I get one of these?

Right now - essentially nowhere. Yokomo appears to have stopped production of the R12C3.1 while they prepare to release a new kit, so the car is sold out everywhere.

If you go back a few pages you'll find what you're looking for. Just pictures.

Starts at post #798.

No release date yet.

Ideally you want to buy the wheels and foam separately. This allows you to run Yokomo wheels with any foam compound that is in doughnut form. I would suggest getting Team Bomber Silver foams for the front and rear.

Or Yokomo Double Pink and Pink.

You can check Futaba Pro Shop and see if they have any in stock. * The have double pink and pink foam dougnuts

Or save yourself the hassle and buy an IRS axle and then you can run BSR tires in the rear. Front requires no changes.

Do yourself a favor and comb back at least 3-4 pages. Some good info from other users.

Why do you recommend the double pink or pink foam instead of any one of the newer varieties offered by Yokomo, JFT, or Ulti? For instance, the Ulti X foam or the JFT S compounds? Just curious as it seems weird to me that someone with access to some of the best foam being produced these days is recommending somewhat older compounds. Are the newer compounds not popular in Japan?

It's just what I and most other drivers use in Japan. There are many other foam tire brands out here it's just we've found Yokomo and Team Bomber tires work well for most conditions. I'll post the other brands later. I've found the Ulti brand you mentioned based out of Japan is near impossible to find. Only thing I can get my hands on are the wheels and the foam is non-existent. The JFT compounds are around, but I haven't met anyone using that compound yet. I might give them a go and see how it pans out. When I'm at the track this weekend I'll ask around the what tires everyone is using.

As of late I am using a new compound offered by Team Bomber. It's called "Silver" compound. I haven't done a lot of testing with them yet and I don't know too much about them. I was just given them to try during the Japan Nationals. First time ever running the compound was actually during the triple a-mains at the 1/12 Japan nationals. It was a bit of a gamble but it worked out nicely. Managed to post the 2nd fastest lap in the first main. Sadly 2nd,3rd main were DNS due to esc issues.

The Yokomo R12 is the first car that have made me love so much the 12th scale class. But now, I have this collect the dust at home ...

I think it will be the time for me to sell that beauty.

At yesterday's IFMAR off road worlds I managed to have a quick chat with the designer of the R12. I asked him about when it will be released. He said "February or March" of next year. The production version might be slightly different to the prototype. However, the new wheels are going to be used.
