Edward,

Were they running the prototype for this race or was this just a display piece only? If they were running an actual prototype how did it look on the track?

Thanks,

Patrick

Just a display piece. They're still running the C3.1. I think this chassis will be a difference maker in low traction. The current CRC dominates on low traction conditions, so Yokomo is trying to fix that.

As for when it will be released. Who knows? I think they'll start testing in the coming months.

Naoto was in attendance with a Team Associated/Muchmore R5.2. Didn't fair so well. I'm not surprised. It goes to show how important his old mechanic was to his success.

Team Yokomo A-main finalists (stock and modified). Pictured here (myself and Kuroda Naoki) were the only two Team Bomber chassis'present at the Japan Nationals. However, both were working really well. A string of electrical problems prevented a podium showing for me and Kuruda just had plain bad luck. There's always next year.

For those who are interested, I'll post my setup in the coming week.

To be honest. I would look at purchasing an IRS differential kit. Beautiful kit and this would allow you to run different wheel brands. I've noticed most guys doing this here in Japan.

Upper arms are the same.
Steering blocks are the same.
Rear shock? You mean the middle damper? Or the pitching damper?
Lower arms are different. You might need to buy a new lower chassis. For it to work. I would save you cash and wait for the new chassis to come out.

That is interesting. I'd def give the car a go if I could get an IRS axle for it. Then I can run whatever i want! I figured there would still need to he an odd offset for it to work from the pod design.

http://www.muddslidemotorsports.com/1graxkitwi3m2.html

1/12th Graphite Axle Kit with 3mm Offset Hub - Includes : Axle (IRS2112BL), 3mm Drive Hub (IRS1126BL), Clamping Hub (IRS219BL), Diff Cone (IRS527BL), Diff Nut (IRS203BL), (2) Ultra Lite D-Rings (IRS2511), Diff Nut (IRS203BL), (12) Diff Balls (IRS204)

The above is what I am using. I'll measure the shims tonight and let you know the proper spacing.

Just a picture to show the different wheel colors. You can still run the Yokomo front wheels with no problems. If you're all about looks, you can run any brand of front wheel with no issues. Keep in mind, as you change from one wheel brand to another the offset might be different. Which means you'll have a different front and rear track width.
