Exactly... They did came out of nowhere an took TQ & 1st place at the worlds!!! My guess is that Yokomo is doing something right, heavy front end or not.

And then again, we all don't know what spring rates were used just by looking at a photo and knowing Yokomo we will know when the car hits the shops and then again. It still is possible that it is a completely different car than the ones used at the worlds...

Way back in '91 Masami used a "works91" version of a Yokomo 4wd buggy, it went in production but never exactly the same as the one he used there... So technical discussions are great but IMHO only when they are based on known facts. Not just speculating from some photo's...

I'm not knocking it...just pointing out similar things have been done in the past that did not work out so well but could have had the proper thought gone into the materials used. So long as Yokomo does that things will be fine.

Your right...we have no way of knowing what spring rate was used...but we do know based off of that design it will have to be considerably stiffer than what we use conventionally. The arm puts a lot more leverage on the spring than the king pin does in a more conventional setup.

Well photos are pretty much fact as far as what has been used so it isn't speculation in that respect...but there is no guarantee that it will make it to the production model.

Holy wowsers Gadget You have got some points there too.

The spring should be stiffer indeed when it is mounted inwards, I agree... Well, I gues we will see it all when it hits the shops...

Also remember that Team Yokomo was in full force during the Worlds and prepared heavily for it. They obviously have put a lot of time into their racing program and have top level drivers, including the now 2 time 1/12 World Champ.

Just because he won with that car doesn't necessarily make it the "car to have". A lot more than just a car helps win the Worlds.

I would honestly be surprised if we ever see that car again.

Just waiting for it! I'm getting mine from race & drift.com or from Driftspeed.com as a back up. I'm thinking at the end of this month

race&drift.com are taking pre orders but the price seems a little higher side..

guessing RC Market or RC Model will get stock as soon as it comes into the market.

For those who have (or will have) a R12, an editable setup sheet is available on petitrc.

Mine turned up today, I put a pre order in with rc race and drift wasn't to worried about the cost , it's a yokomo, and they are expensive anyways.

Just had a look at the rims and the car is running the different offset, how ever 4pairs of both front and rear rims come with the kit.

Somehow that box reminds me of a vintage car box.
