Other side
Do you know the offset difference between yokomo & standard JACO wheel ?
Especially on rear .....

On carpet have found like 6 setups sheets all range from 1 to 1.5 camber

Was told that the R12 drivers at IIC this year in mod ran 2.5 or 2 degree camber

It all about how the tires cone, if running .5 works for you and the coning on the tires is minimal guess that is the best setup for your track / driving style.

if you need 2.5 to even out the coning all good

Agreed, adjust camber for tire wear.
So far with the R5.1, have not needed more than 2deg for mod asphalt, to 17.5 spec carpet.
Usually not more than .5 to 1deg.

The R12 is a different animal, still waiting to hear of any non factory drivers that are having success with this chassis ?

We have a fantastic carpet track in Chino Hills if anyone in the area is looking for a place to test their car...

R12 is a different beast that is so true...

There really is speed which just needs a little unlocking..

So far only be able to test Super Grip with Hard Front's just the only tires I have now own complete sets from soft though to med / hard.

Super grip sure have some steering, my local track only had 1 night where this combo worked and that was a little test when racing had finished where I got the most out of the car.

The car felt very good that evening, hoping Med / hard allow the car to be more consistent.

Great, and yesterday I glued up 12 pairs...
Anyone tried the rear S vs MH already?? When glued on, the MH's feel softer than the S's.

This is a true statement, but the R12 that won on asphalt was not using the current monoshock design rather the AE12R5 front end.

What do they use the O-ring for?? Travel limiter or anything?

What I cant understand is they bring out a new chassis a month after the car's release, which makes for a pretty expensive upgrade! 6mm wider front end is a lot, did they make a mistake with the original chassis?

O-ring means up-stop, kind of travel limiter.

Wide chassis makes steering mild on paved track. standard chassis makes more steering.

today, naoto uses standards chassis, other yokomo driver use wide.

I think yokomo R12 retail version is failure. for that reason, team yokomo have a hard time running fast.

today practice lap time.
1st naoto (current world champion) 14.989
2nd murai(team yokomo) 15.223
3rd fukuoka(team kawada) 15.296
4th hayato (team crc) 15.345
5th kitazawa(team corally) 15.360

Finally did some decent testing today on a high grip carpet track.

Firstly, I made the droop that way that I have almost no preload on the front springs. No stabi installed
Started running with Jaco Magenta's all around, Car was running very well.
Rears fully soaked, front soaked about 3/4.
-> these were my quickest laptimes thusfar.
Next I switched to Yokomo medium L rears, I noticed I had a little less rear grip.
This means the medium L rears are almost the same as Magenta, little harder.

After this I also went for yokomo L mediums at the front, sauced the same as the Jaco's. Car drove good as well, 0.2s slower as with the jaco's but with some tuning I should get some more steer and I'd be as fast as with the Jaco's.

The track I run at normally starts the rears at about 43mm, anything above tears because of the grip. The Jaco's I started with were from last season and were 44mm (forgot to true em fresh), tore after 3 runs.
The home glued Yokomo tires I ran at 45mm!! and no problems at all, all in perfect shape.

I also milled ride height spacers that will slide under the suspension arms without having to dismount the complete suspension.
I'll get some pictures up tomorrow.

Had anyone tried this setup?

How do you get the setting in the middle of the blocks, just cannot work out how to make this happen the block just will not go in.

Can anyone explain what "Skid Angle" does? are they really just talking about Caster angle?
