Yokomo super grips on the rear, with yokomo firms on the front, Ive got medium fronts to mount still as well as the medium hard rears which feel skickier and firmer than the super grips

Recieved my R12 yesterday, i've put it together yesterday evening and here are my comments:
- Parts are of a good quality, chassis screwholes are nice and tight.
- The screws that were delivered to hold the rear "ballpiece" were too short, 6mm delivered while the manual specified 8mm -> I took the 8mm ones of the front bodyposts instead.
- Steel screws supplied for the front bodyposts, replaced by aluminum ones. My experience is that you'll rip the steel screws through the chassis plate in a hard impact. Alu screws just break and leave the chassis intact.
- front end fits together very nicely, works smooth and is almost play- free.
With the std springs, the front seems very stiff though, need to see how the car drives.
- I did notice a reasonal amount of play on the ballcup of the centerspring...
- 6mm(?) balls of the suspension feel/look cheap but seem to work fine
- rear suspension ball still has a small amount of play allthough the plastic piece is fully compressed...
- No height spacers supplied for the front end... I cant believe you have to adjust front ride height with the screws in there because you'll also change the spring rate then...

Since my vacation starts today and I'm out of the country, its gonna be at least 2 weeks before I can drive the car. Oh man.... couldnt have picked a worse moment

I try to get data and translate them into English when they aren't, sometime that's possible and some other not possible, especially with handwritten scanned sheet, I'm not fluent in Japanese.
But if you guys are successful to get setup, feel free to drop an-e-mail (address on setup sheet) and I'll add it to this page, that includes turning into pdf the setup sheet if needed.

I was worried about the stiffness of the front, but that wasn't a issue when I had it on the track, just swapped in gold AE side springs and the car was hooked up, the yokomo tires were very impressive first time out I was running the super grip rears and firm fronts

What to thread lock!!

2 things which came loose during my testing..

2.5m Screw which attaches the front wheel axle
rear centre shock became loose

This could well be due to the bump track I was racing on but was a good shake down shame about my racing.

One would assume on a Carpet Track as to the above mentioned, although would you please confirm.

Further anyone with lessons learned or information as to car setup or build would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards!!!

Alex

I was on a old outdoor surface which would be low to medium grip asphalt. I hadn't mount the other tire types yet so was riming the super grips.. Which seemed ok outside, but ideally I think they are a harder compound indoor tire, Which I'll be doing some testing tomorrow hopefully. I've only just got all my front springs to suit the car so more testing ahead but out of the box the kit springs worked well.
