power cap question
Hey Guys.
Ok i own both a GM V12 and a Novak GT7 speed controls.
Now i think that the power cap on the GT7 is damaged and want to know if i used the one from the GMv12 just to test and make sure that the power cap is damaged, would this be ok???
I am not going to drive the car, but i want to test it with a motor hooked up on the bench. The reason i ask is cos my GT7 has been causing major interference problems and i am hoping that it is only the power cap. I would buy one, but no one here in Adelaide sells them
Thanks Guys.
Glenn

Re: power cap question
It is ok to mix capacitors. You could go the nearest Radio Shack, Tandy or whatever it's called where you live, and buy any 10-16v (10 is better if available) 1.000-10.000 uf (higher is better) capacitor as substitute, just make sure it has low ESR although most new capacitors do.
Do a search on power capacitor here on RC-Tech and read the 4 or 5 posts on capacitors that have been going for the last couple of months.
