Hi,
has anyone run both and have an opinion which one is better?
I know there is a weight difference, even the different diameter makes a difference when it comes to rotating mass, but are there construction differences, beside the obvious size difference, or durability comparisons?
Thanks.

when reopening the differential silicone comes off well without leaving a trace
instead for leaking near shafts we have to wait the new o-ring from Spec-R, at the IFMAR World Championship they provided the TRF Team with a new transparent o-ring

You'll never get rid of the leaking completely, just like shocks, they will eventually need rebuilding as well.
Sounds like the new O-ring will help, and perhaps a thin, round, very large O-ring closer to the outside, like a 1/8 gear diff might help a lot more than the cardboard gasket that is currently used.

I've just ordered my spec-r gear diff for my TRF416X, but i've been reading a lot about diff oils.
I just don't know were to find some of these diff oils and i even don't know what would be a thicker oil.
The higher the number or lower the number?
I know that tamiya has diff oils of 5000, 10000 and 30000 but wich one is a thicker oil?
Can someone help me out with this mather?
Kind regards

How does a thicker oil (higher CST) react compaired to thinner oil? What is a good starting weight for 17.5? (1000 CST?)
