OK ill start there is a problem with the geared diff it looks like the shim in behind the crown gear compresses into the o-ring slot and then the pin comes out of the crown gear and strips the crown gear pin slot any ideas what to do as this has happen 3 out of 5 races.

Make sure that the crown gear sits fully into the slot, when building one of mine the gear wouldnt sit down fully.

I had about 6 runs in a T3, small very high grip track running 10.5 no problems so far. I have a 416 version fitted in a 3Racing Sakura, only had about 3 runs, but no problems.

In the Sakura i used 3000wt oil, this is silky smooth, but a bit too tight
In the T3 i mixed 1000 and 3000 (need to get some 2000) and it was very good, lots of drive out of the corner, a touch more steering than the ball diff, and felt like it did not unload as much through fast on power corners.

Thanks for the heads up on the pin issue though, i will keep an eye on them.

i think to fix this a larger shim is needed to be used the same size as the crown gear because the smaller shim can easily collapse into the o-ring slot but its only a short term fix i think with larger shim.

haven't gear diffs been tried before in Elec TC? If they were better than a standard ball diff, wouldn't the manufacturers already be using them?

They work a treat in mod and faster stock classes when running on asphalt.
Also no more diff rebuilds and failures.
Been trying to get a Serpent gear diff for a while now.
