I think it will fit, the 416X has 1mm wider spacing bulkheads than the Sakura, So all you have to I guess is to just shim the diff 0.5mm on each side of the bearings. I have ordered mine and will let you guys know soon.

Which as we know is far from old stock now, and is near as quick as old brushed mod with the NG esc's, in fact a lot quicker than most with 10.5

Which car are you guys really asking for, TCX or TC?
I remember somebody here recommend to using 416 geardiff(37T) with tamiya trf416 front oneway pulley and cyclone TC belts.
The latest moment looks like is using Yokomo BD5 geardiff(40T) in that new chassis with Square aluminium oneway pulley, but not sure what kind of belts need.

About "old" TC, i still want to know which geardiff fits with which pulley, belts and center pulley, in fact i saw Square has released also 20 to 22T center pulley, maybe this is the solution, could anyone answer me, please?

Best regards

Default Gear Diffs

G'day guys,

Does anybody have a few tips for a Gear Diff beginner...

I am running an original TRF416 (not WE or X) and would love to try out one of the new Gear Diffs out in 17.5 if its worth it.

From what I can see there are a couple of brands, is that correct? Spec-R and another?

Also, was reading that 1000wt (shock oil) is recommended?

And there seems to be an issue with a shim moving or something of the sort.

Ben

Hey you can run spec-r,3racing,and photon with small mods and for the shims there is a small issue in the spec r diff with the shims failing but can be fixed.and for starting oil weight I would say min start 3000wt other wise there is to much offpower turn in and not a lot of onpower drive if to light in oil

It's worth it. Get the Spec R diff for the 416 and run about 800-2,000 weight oil.
