because i pulled out of the sport back in like 01 one of the last times i raced i remember watch dale earnheart die.. that long ago. so lipos werent around and i just wanna screw around with my car. lol. i spend real money on my real truck, car and bike. but i will be considering it later if my buddies make me get all competitive but one just bought a tamiya tt01 so im not too concerned. once he beats me in a drag then ill upgrade to brushless/lipo

The belts do crumble well don't they? Just a suggestion...get rid of those shocks and go to the threaded ones when you can. It really is important to the handling. As for Lipos....they are SO much easier to take care of then nimh. Check www.hobbycity.com for Zippy Flightmax hardcase lipos. You can buy the 4000mah, 25c units for about $25 a piece. I have 6 of them over a year old and in great shape. Great power and much longer run time.

yea my whole car was basically my dads xxx-s as he upgraded to graphite pieces he gave me his pieces. he has threaded shocks and I have them on my equally ancient Kenwald Edition XXX.. Lipos huh. I will look into it... what modifications do these XXX-S require to run them? I will search it... but since you guys did it i figured you'd know pretty well

Only thing you need to do is shave down the ribbed sections of the battery area so the lipo can lay flat. The stock battery area was designed for 6 cell side by side and stick packs . Very simple to do and takes about 30 minutes. The cool thing is that unlike many newer chassis, you can still move the battery forward or back to change weight bias and the stock chassis is wide enough that you can place the much lighter lipo pack to the extreme outboard of the chassis. Just put some 1/4 to 1/2 inch foam along the bottom of the drive belt tunnel so it pushes the battery to the side.
