IMO Id be doin a quick tear down of the car and doing a quick check and clean of the bearings and diffs etc
checking belt tension and setting up the toe camber etc

it should roll alot more than how you described (not sure if thats with mtor/pinion installed etc) but yea best bet is check ya bearings nothin worse than running ot with ditry bearings etc an killing them an ya new motor.

The 1 pic of the rear tire looks to be right but the fronts are wrong direction. Not a big deal though. I doubt you'll be racing with those tires.

Agree with Paraletic....probably shouldnt run car yet without a bit of an inspection. Also...if you stick that BL motor in there I can guarantee the gear ratio wont be right and might harm the motor.

Alright the belts are both blue (kinda green). They are pretty stiff it seems.

EDIT: and the motor was in place when I tested how easily it coasted.

Belt(s) ? There's only 1 belt on the car. Is it blue or yellow? Sounds like yellow but probably old. Whatcha think?

Yes my fault, it looked like two belts and it really does look blue/green. I will do a clean up and get back with you guys. Thanks so much for all of your help so far. I am sure there is a lot more work ahead.

All the wheels are facing the same direction. The arrows on the tires are all facing the back when looking from the top. I think I will switch them. Also, Is there something I can do to fit a lipo? The battery holster is made for nimh/nicd.

sounds like the original kit belt if its blue/green

try grabbing a yellow belt for it or get the black long belt conversion for it that will free it up more too.

The tires may be mounted incorrectly. Just about any size 2c lipo should fit. notice the nubs on the battery tray and the one on the battery strap ?? They have to be ground off. Very easy.

Well I just ordered a SPC 2s battery
http://www.specpointbatteries.com/in...p?productID=59

1. However, it is only rated 20c. Do you suppose it will be okay? An employee at my LHS says I should have purchased one with more c's so that it does not overheat.

2. I somehow lost one of the bearings of the car while cleaning them. I am looking to replace them with no maintenance sheilded bearings that won't be to pricey. Any suggestions?

3. My vxl motor shaft is so long that it hangs over the belt (I think it is barely touching). I see this as a problem. I will be buying a new motor in the future as I will be using the VXL in my rustler. Are any other motor shafts this long?

Not a bad price on the batt. As an option take a look at www.hobbycity.com. Great prices on batts and other stuff.

Bearings....check ebay. There's some excellent rubber shielded ones available for cheap. Some are in the U.S.

Not quite understanding about the motor shaft. Are you sure you have the motor mount installed correctly? Which part of the belt is it almost touching...the upper part or the lower part closest to the bottom of the car? The length of the shaft shouldn't be a problem. Can't imagine it's so long that it reaches the other side of the tunnel. I think the position of the motor is the problem.

I just took too it with a dremel an drum sanding wheel
don't need too remove much an jus make sure u don't leave a sharp edge after

I would have purchased a flightmax battery for a great price at hobby city but they have been out of stock for a while.

The motor is actually my vxl (traxxas brushless motor). I had to return the mamba max, it didn't work correctly. I will be buying a new motor for this car because the vxl goes in my rustler. The shaft is barely rubbing the top of the botom belt where there are no teeth so it can probably run but not as efficient as possible.

My hobbyshop mainly stocks mini and micro losi parts, not 1/10 scale losi parts so I had to order the new yellow belts and some spool pads through them.

I will search for the correct size of bearings but if you guys know the size give me a heads up.

Thanks.

Default Gearing?

Hey guys, I was wondering what gearing you recommend for a brushless EzRun 60A ESC/6000kV motor combo. I looked around, but nothing I found was anything specific. I have both the stock 48P and the 128T 64P spurs and barely any pinions so anything goes I'm thinking of using it for drifting with abs "tires" and asphalt bashing/racing for now if that helps.
