Setting Droop
Hi all,
I am having major difficulties getting my droop set correctly with the droop screws so I think its time to try the limiter method per Todd Hodge.
I just want to be sure I get this right so please comment.
Fronts - Use a 0.060" shock limiter on the piston and then adjust the eyelet for exact measurments.
Rear - I have not seen much on using a limiter and I guess this is because you need more droop. So no limiter here and adjust by the eyelet.
I plan on using 3mm Front and 5mm Rear for a high bite Ozite track.
Second question - Do I need to reset droop everytime I cut the foams down to size?
Any comments? Thanks

The trouble that people had with setting there droop on the xxx-s was caused by the front and rear bumpers being to flexible and bending as you screwed the droop screw in. Losi solved that by coming out with the ultra rigid bumpers. Thses bumpers are much stiffer and won't flex when adjusting the droop screws.
The ansewer about adjusting the droop when cutting you tires is yes. When ever your ride hight is adjusted or camber or shock placement is change you must adjust everything acordingly.
People mistake droop and down stop as the same thing. The droop screws are really just down stop screws to limit your shock travel. The way I figure my droop is by setting my car on a flat surface holding the car down at the tires and lifting the shock tower. You see how much space you have in between your springs and you shock collar and adjust from there.

Roll out for 19T
I might move into the 19T "Super Stock" class, but I have no idea what rollout to use on a Reedy 19T Spec. I looked up Hodge's 19T setup and he's using a 36 pinion on a 128 spur. WOW! Seems large (but what do I know? ) Track is pretty open with ozite carpet. I'll be using TRC foams, 60mm. Since this is a relatively new class, nobody really has any tried and true tips yet.
Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I can't speak for carpet but this past outdoor season when we ran 19 turn we typicaly geared them the same or only 1 tooth lower than our stocks. Hope this helps. Also, go to gearchart.com for a roll out calculator to help with your foam tires and gears. Good Luck.

Heres another pic of both versions of the --Team Pharriswheel "SuperCooler" & "SuperCoolerX". The original clamps on motors from the top where motor access is not obstructed, XXX-S,TC3, etc. The "X", motors sit in the "saddle" for cars that have the motor buried within the bulkheads, like the X-Ray or JRSX.
These units are good for aprox. a 60 degree temp drop (80 degree air temp, 20 degree motor temp).

Thanks Pookyt. I was glancing through the Losi manual and following the pattern of motor/pinion, it looked like it was going to end up being the same
I'm still using my Super Cooler as well

On a nineteen turn you have to gear it higher to get the same top speed. They have lower rpm but more tourque than a stock 27 turn. They are real stump pullers so you can get them to pull big gears. I run a 36/128 on my local track with 58mm tires with the reedy quad mag and it really rips. Just a suggestion.
