Yeah, they are pretty good. They seem a little stronger than the blue ones. They are a little loader though, but the 128T 64P spur gear is the only kevlar gear for the xxx-s. The 128 seems to be the general spur gear that everyone uses with 64Pitch gears.

Default shocks

meant to put this here...instead of todds thread...

randy, jkerr, james, or anyone running tamiya shocks.

what advantages other then being smooth have you found with the tamiya shocks...does having them longer then the losi ones help in droop/ride height settings...allowing you do run smaller diameter foams?

Haven't had a chance to get the Tamiya shocks on the car yet. Waiting on my towers from PRP. He's sending me some of the prototypes. I'm pulling the shocks off my 414. After talking to MF at the Reedy Race, he said there wasn't much if any difference on the track. It's mainly because they're easier to tune and match. I like the action of them better too. They build better and just feel like they're more precise than the Losi shocks.

I limit mine on the inside of the body to get the right droop. Oh yeah, I can bleed all 4 perfectly in about 3 mins... I cant even get 1 losi shock right in 5 mins.

A little birdie told me that Losi is developing upgraded shocks for the XXX-S. Stupid me didn't ask when they would be available; but, after getting the significant improvement from their HD black belt system, I can wait...These guys know how to do it right...

Not to offend anyone, but Losi shocks have been a weak point for them for YEARS! They've never been able to get them right and they seem to be too stubborn (or cheap) to do anything about it. No fancy coating will make up for a poor design. hopefully they've finally come to grips with that and want to do somthing about it.

I'd bet the new belt will be out before the new shocks.

It must be a blue belt cuz I saw Kinwald had a blue belt on his car, not sure if it's a color thing or a performance thing.

They need to make the belt with dual compounds of rubber, the main part of the belt could be a flexible soft compound, but leave the teeth a real hard compound so it doesn't skip.

I can tell you that I am excited to be back running a losi sedan. I went the Yokomo SSG and CGM route and the car was good at times but was hard to keep going fast. I ran xxxs for two years before making the Yok switch. Since the improvements like the black belt this car is really tuff to beat! The belt has the car very free now....looking forward to the Nats running this losi!
