Losi XXX-S

They replace the entire thrust bearing assembly and make diff building a lot quicker. I have been using these in losi cars for years now and they work/hold up great.

The Losi Molded Thrust Bearing with Hard Balls is part number A-3098 and lists for $5.00. I prefer it over the hardened carbide balls you can get from Losi; however, putting individual ceramic balls ($1.00/ball) in the diff and thrust areas gives really smooth diff action.
At $9.40, the McMaster Carr #7806K53 bearing set is almost twice the cost of the molded Losi unit.
The MC set may cost more; but, if Todd Hodge uses it, I assume they are better.
I have one XXX-S setup with all ceramic balls and the other with the molded Losi thrust bearings. Unfortunately, I have too many variables between these stocker cars to make a call one way or the other.

Hey everyone, I'm currently driving a Serpent 710 and love it but I want something elcetric. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the XXX-S with a brushless setup. What I'm wondering is if the XXX-S has any problems or quirks and if so what are the fixes?? I thought I heard once something about the steering having issues???? I personally don't know that is why I've come here to ask and learn. Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon!!

If you get the graphite plus kit you can run it bone stock and be fully competitive with it. The HD belt is a good upgrade, improves acceleration and runtime.
Thanks Randy, I was planning on getting the graphite kit any way. What is this HD Belt????? Where does it go and do you have a part #??? Thanks for your time!
Regarding the steering, I think you're confusing rumors about the Associated TC3 with the xxxs. I know there are some issues with the TC3 steering, but nothing that I've ever experienced or heard regarding the xxxs.
Here's the info on the belt kit. Definitely a smart upgrade:
