I was preparing to do that change with at least the front end. Thanks for putting it out there.

Im not braking for stock racing just yet . What other solution is there to get my car to handle better at MARCCA? It could be the suspension setup, since I did set it up according to this http://www.teamlosi.com/pictures/jpe...Snowbird03.jpg . Im guessing the shock oil/spring setup could be the problem. It could also be my tires, theyre pretty old. Also could be some caster/toe/camber problems (I doubt it, since marcca track doesnt seem very sensitive to setup changes like that).
ANOTHER thing it could be, is my differntial setup; the tightness of them. Could be that Im running a p2k2pro instead of a monster stock like everyone else is.

Youd probably have to see my car in order to tell even vaguely what the problem is, or even drive it.

Ah, yea, you got the wrong setup there! Remember that cars are set up completely different for foam tires and rubber tires, and that there is a foam setup.

I don't recall exactly what I was running on Sunday, but it was very close to Todd's rubber setup from last year's Novak race. Use this: http://www.teamlosi.com/pictures/jpe...rackside03.jpg

The most economical thing to do at MARCCA is use a brand new pair of Take-Off 22s or Sorex 20s in the rear of your car, and an old set of Take-Off 27s/22s or Sorex 24s/20s in the front. Every two-three weeks, then, buy a new pair of 22s or 20s for the rear of the car, and move the old ones to the front. Should cost you no more than $15-20 (so $6/week) and you will always be hooked up. Put traction sauce (TQ Blue or TQ Mod are what I use) on all of the rear tires about 5-10 minutes before each heat, and maybe a little bead on the inside of the front tires.

Use a monster stock motor (it will be faster than the P2K2) gear it with a 29T pinion for that track, maybe a 28 if you feel you need more speed (this is with a Losi 128T spur). An 8.3-8.7 ratio is what you want for that (small) track. That's what we were all running on Sunday.

I think your XXX-S will handle fine with the above setup, even without a one-way. As sad as it is, the tires are key to a lot of the handling. I know it sucks to burn money on tires like that, but if you do it smartly, it can be the cheapest and most effective way to get the car to handle.

If you need more help, just ask!

This may sound stupid, but have you tigtened the ball down fully and made sure there is no flashing on the hole that would keep the shock ball from completely setting flush against the arm? This just came to me as I was trying to think of the reason not all people were having the same problem.

Brad-
Todd was saying he only uses the forward and flipped position when he moves his front arms .030 more forward than the normal forward position (shaving the pivot mount). Its just to keep the ackerman the same as it would be in the middle of rear position.

James,

Obviously, I'm going to pay more attention to YOUR XXX-S setup.

Good luck at Stockton on Wednesday.

I probably won't be out there at Stockton tomorrow night, will try to make it out on Saturday though. Gotta take the car apart and go through all of the parts.
