hey guys, is there a problem with 28mm foams interfering with the shocks in the rear on the g+?

You have to notch the bottom shock eyelet to run the standard Losi hex, or you could use asc. hex and it will clear fine

Default Back to the Losi..

So how does everone like the XXXs on carpet... ? I did go that far back on the posts but here is a trick to get the drive train alittle bit freeer.. On the Yellow belts Cut off ever other notch on the belt. This will free it up alot...

If someone has already posted this trick sorry for not going back and reading...

currently i am using the inside hole on the arm in the rear. and i can run 29 and even 30mm with clearance. but i am guessing you are using the outer hole with these clearance problems?

also about freeing up the drive train. i heard david spashett is cutting every 3rd tooth off from his belt. i asked and i guess he is having no problems with the belt skipping in mod w/foams even. some guys are also using the new black belt and some are also taking teeth off of these belts to free it up further. not sure if it makes a huge difference on the track though....

also i have a question for you guys, has anyone here tryed modifying the rear arms for droop screws into the chassis? i know of some doing this. just wondering if anyone has any feedback? thanks

do you mean so the bumper doesn't flex, or so you can try a different pivot, or snading the arm. I don't know what mod yourtalking about. I don't use droop(on carpet). The rear shouldn't be a problem??

So what your saying is removed every other tooth to free up the drivetrain...did I hear that right? Will this effect acceleration at all?

Anyone have a good carpet/rubber tire setup or at least a starting point?

every third tooth. And if the guys didn't have trouble with mod-foam, the hardest on wear class, then any other class should be fine. As long as you keep your belt tight, you should be fine. If you have it loose, you may stop slipping, and reck you other teeth.

spaz, I'm currently thinking about getting a g+ and was just wondering if 28mm foams were a problem with the outer shock hole in the rear. Thanks for the input.

Has anyone seen or tried the Losi Mod they were doing to the rear shock tower to give you a new Camber link hole The Man Andrew Gray, a Losi guy came up with it.

I will take a picture of mine and post it..

There is no problem with 28mm tires in the rear. I have been running the Jaco tires and have had no problems..

Racenut, try Hodge's on the Losi site from last year's Novak race. It's what I use and it's really really good.

I am working to get graphite bumpers produced. I have to call the guy Monday. He's been working on it for a bit of time now. If they work out, they might get mass produced.

thegame- you are probaly right about it being every other tooth. i never talked to david personally about it. now that i think of it i think my buddy did tell me every other tooth.

about the rear camber link mod, i was up in dumas and greys room a few times over the weekend and i checked out the rear tower on mikes car. it looks pretty cool but im not sure how much it is really needed on carpet. it is basically an extra camber link row screwed into the bottom row of holes offset to give an extra inner mount. kind of hard to explain lol.

also another cool thing i saw was the bk hubs which i think others have mentioned...

pro3racer- sorry didnt clarify, i drilled out a hole in the rear arms just above the edge of the chassis so you can run a long set screw that will hit the chassis. i am only running a small piece of the rear bumper, just enough to seal the rear tunnel, the rest is cut off.
