take off 27's always are the go to tire at ripon. Hopefully I can make it up there sometime soon to help you out.

P.S. I only have som sorex 36's with firm inserts and take off cs-27's which seem to be too hard for the main beacause my tires didnt even heat up until the last lap.

I am running D.prpl/prpl, arms all the way forward (no extra triming yet), I am also running 40 weight in all 4 shocks with 57/55 pistons. I like the extra cornerspeed the 55's give iwhen used in the back....

I believe I will go 60 weight all around and probably go back to my old plaid/prpl tire set-up....... BTW: I al running 4.5/5mm rideheight.

Adding the extra droop or uptravel as I measure it actually allows the car to transfer extra weight to the front tires......

This week I will ask to borrow the shop tempgun and check the tire temps at the beginning, halfway thru, and at the end of my practice runs to try ad get a better handle on what is actually happening.....

IMPACT: i would try spacing the front arms in the middle to get the off power steering you want. i could also try less droop in front (higher on the droop gauge) but would try out the arm spacing first and see how that goes.

also, considering that your car behaves differently through the course of a run, i would tend to think that it may be a tire issue (overheating perhaps?). coz mechanical grip or the grip achieved with suspension/cahssis set-up should not change over a 5 min run unless these are drastically altered or mis-aligned by somthing like a hard crash.

just my .02 cents.

Thanks Robo, I will take that into concideration... however I am going to find out what is causing te rear tires to generate more grip as the race goes on.... either the rears are heating up more due to more mechanical grip or possibly the fronts are overheating...but the foams show no signs of overheating.....

Front droop effects on-power steering , rear droop effects off-power.......

Droop affects weight transfer. in turn affects traction at each end of the car, front droop controlling traction coming out of a corner on power. and rear droop controlling traction coming into a corner off power. also affects the rate at which your car manuevers (sp?) and transfers weight from side to side on cornering.

i find that adjusting droop settings, like most other suspension components is always a compromise ... meaning you gain one thing at the expense of somthing else. from what ive experienced, less front droop (higher on the droop gauge) makes the car react faster and gives off power steering and doing the opposite or adding more droop (lower on the gauge) makes car react slower but increases on-power steering. so depending on which way you go, more or less droop should give you different steering characteristics.

as for the rear, i find less droop makes the back end rotate faster in corners while more droop gives more bite.

IMPACT,

ever think about maybe going stiffer on spring??? I mean how low is the traction at your track that you run that soft for foam?

Traction is great, I have used this same set-up for several months at 3 different tracks and it has worked very well until the temps started being regularly higher....

Also my fronts wear quicker than the rears?? by about 2 mm per 2 racedays..... and then with the tracks running 2 right hand sweepers..... I can't ever get even tire wear from the darn thing.....

BTW: unlike several other competetors cars I hear almost no tire scrub noise!!! Some sound like a tire truer in the turns!!!!
