When I got the graphite conversion for my XXX-S it came with the new rear tower. How will using the lower mounting holes change handling? My car seems to lack a bit of rear bite coming out of corners so would this help?

Thanks

Did you get the new rear A arms and the off set rear hubs, those will help with the rear traction comming out of the corners, you can also run a softer rear spring and that will help also.

Nope, only the new shock tower and chassis.
Thanks for the advice, I might try going to silver in the back
The thing is I don't want to lose the balance of the car because it's going so well, just fine tuning needed now.

According to the GP manual the lower holes on the tower will result in less forward traction and more sidebite in low speed turns. It will also increase corner speed on high speed, on-power sweeping turns.

I don't know if you have to be running the new hubs to have this effect or not.

You can run the hubs in either one, the standered out side one is more for carpet.

The new offset rear was designed for high bite carpet. Thats really the only time the team uses them.

It worked pretty well in Tulsa last time I was there!

Maybe cause Tulsa doesn't have alot of side bite, like carpet.

I dunno, just what I was told. LOL

For those who think that the team isn't using the off set rear end on asphalt, check out the SoCal setup from BK on their website.

Does the off set rear end work? yep. Would I use it on asphalt? Yes and no, but not in mod. The added rotation from the rear seems to work well for stock ... but not in mod... at least from my point of view

Tulsa is a small track with tight corners and good traction. I ran it in mod and it helped quite a bit but stock was sweet.

I have been racing with my LOSI XXX-S (full graphite, etc) for some time now and the only problem I have is that of LOSS OF STABILITY (bit oversteer) OFF POWER ... i.e. when entering a corner!

Any suggestions? I use purple springs (front) and silver (softer) springs back. I tried different types of setup but it seems that the same problem persists ... i.e. loss of rear traction OFF POWER!

when was your last tear down? If you loose traction at one end of the car with no suspension changes, and then you can't get traction no matter what you do usually it is due to a mechanical problem....

Check-
Hinge pins- bent?
Shock seals- leaking/sticking?
Tires- worn-out, how about the inserts
Bearings- rough?
Diff settings- have they changed over time?
Ball studs- bent/scratched/binding?
Springs- bent?
Droop screws- have the settings changed?

If you check all of this out and nothing wors go to the last set-up your car felt right with, and start all over agian......

Thanks for your suggestions ... but I am sure it is not a mechanical problem ...

This problem existed since I tried the car the first time! I tried different setups, always rebuilding the car and the problem persists.

How will the rear diff. effect handling going into corners?

Senna - so your car gets loose entering turns? I don't know what your setup, tires, etc is but here are some things to help with that. You can try a bit thinner oil in the rear of the car or thicker in the front. Also, try moving both the front and rear a-arms forward. This smooths the car out and transfers weight more towards the rear wheels. You can also try removing some of the kickup in the front arms. For example, if you run the mid roll center blocks in front (the new Low roll center blocks that come with the G+), and you use the 2F pivot support in front, you'll actually have 1- or -2 kickup which is called prodive. Again this helps reduce intial dive in the front of the car off power and smooths out weight transition. Also, increase your rear toe in angle. The car comes with 0 deg rear hubs. You'll increase that rear bite with 1/2 deg or 1 deg hubs. Obviously last but not least would be to use a front swaybar on the car. Again, alot of these things really depend on what your existing setup is but all of them will move your car in the right direction. In order to help any more, I think we'd need to see your whole setup.

Thanks Dave for your suggestions ...

Kindly find below my setup (maybe you can have a better idea)!

FRONT
- Toe (0 deg)
- Camber (-1 deg)
- Kickup (0 deg)
- Caster (2 deg)
- Arm Spacing (forward)
- One-Way (41 tooth pulley)
- Sway Bar (No)
- Shock Oil (50 wt)
- Shock Spring (Purple)
- Shock Location (#2)
- Camber Link (#3)

REAR
- Toe (Standard)
- Camber (-1 deg)
- Antisquat (0 deg)
- Caster (0 deg)
- Arm Spacing (backward)
- Diff. (bit loose)
- Sway Bar (No)
- Shock Oil (50wt)
- Shock Spring (Silver)
