Thumbs up

I've used stick radios since I cant remember! Got into racing using a 50 27mhz radio but found it very limiting so I upgraded to a 40mhz. This was a pistol type (KO Presto EX11) at around the 150 mark. I suffered far less glitching but couldn't get used to the layout. I had some extra money after doing a lot of overtime and bought the Exzes. I picked one up at the LHS and it just felt right in my hands(ooeerrr! ) , as stated it all comes down to personal preference and available monies!
I also think a lot comes down to regional preferences. We do have pistol type radios for sale this side of the pond but, as I've already said they just aren't that popular.
I use finger and thumb to control throttle and steering as I find it gives me better control but you must have a neck strap to use it like this, I wouldnt use my radio without one it cost too much to drop!
Later guys,
Pete.

I used to have a strap for my radio but a couple of months I took it off and found I got a little quicker and much more consistent laps I think it must have changed the way I held the Tx (or restricted blood flow to my brain) and it is definitely more comfortable now.

http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/tc3pete/v...iew=t&.hires=t

Can you say spares?!!
http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/tc3pete/v...iew=t&.hires=t

Thought you might want to see the body
http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/tc3pete/v...iew=t&.hires=t

Specs for those who want to know!
Full graphite chassis, ally front CVD's, full alluminium from Fasttrax, Quantum competition esc, Delrin front diff outdrives, ally support fitted to rear outdrives Orion Chrome Stock running 27/90 gearing, short shocks on front threaded all round with the nitride shafts, overdriven front diff...... erm thats I can think of at the moment!
All that and the huge amount of spares! I'm going to build a complete spare chassis and probably keep the rest for just in case

For the more curious, thats a NTC3 and a HPI SUper nitro in the back ground!
Enjoy!!
Pete.

Default Re: Graphite XXX-S

Here are a few other details on the graphite XXX-S
--New belt which is yellow

Hi Todd, you mention the graphite XXX-S will come out with a new belt which is yellow in color. How different the yellow belt with the original blue belt in terms of their performance ? Would the yellow one skip ?

My original blue belt skipped several times during the race and it was frustrating. I managed to tighten the tension, but it still skipped.

Any advise to avoid it ? (I dont use reverse nor break).

Thanks,

Jeomii, It's normal for the belt to skip about 4 clicks when slowing down, you say you don't use the brakes but do you have any drag brake set up, that may be the cause? Check your drive train for binding, just make sure nothing's rubbing and that the bearings are OK.

IJnek, I beleive futureal knows how to solve the problem-LOL! Actually, I think there is no way to fix the problem with the stock and Losi Aluminum CVD's. I haven't really seen anyway it affects performance though. http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthre...0642#post20642

Can you order the "red" hop ups for the LOSI XXX-S online on the internet and where?

Is it possible to find "lightweight" locknuts to secure the wheels?

Are there more efficient belts than the standard "blue" one?

What do you think about the .28" titanium threaded shocks? Are they too short or good enough?

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,
Mark

shrekair, addind washers on the front carriers only solves wheel bouncing from side-to-side(horizontally) when turning. Losi's street weapon was bad about this. The XXXS doesn't have that problem, this problem lies in the cvd's when fully angled-they bind(vertically). Most of this is due to the fact the way the cvd's are angled to the rear more than perpendicular to the chassis. The only some what fix I have found is that you can space your front arms most furthest forward to eliminate the binding, this will help make them more perpendicular to the chassis. That an eliminate some servo throw. I'm on a mission now though

Senna, I beleive Losi's new yellow belt will be more efficient than their blue belt but it is dedicated to stock racing and might wear out more quicker with mod. The new Losi graphite kits will come equiped with these.
