Default Re-entry :-)

Hi guys,

I haven't run my XXX-s since the snowbirds. Now it's time to dust it off and prepare it for racing again.

Have there been any setup revolutions lately?
I checked Losi's site for new setups, duuuh.

Also, did they come out with stronger bumpers that hold a droop setting yet?

Thanks

As you raise one end or corner of the car up weight is tranfered to the opposite end or corner of the car . The higher you lift that end or corner of the car the more weight is transfered to the opposite end. Anyways, too much droop could make your car push in a corner or make you loose.

Default Parma X20 190mm!!!

What is the current preference on the new bodies out right now? Protoform Stratus 2.0, Losi Alfa, Trinity Reference or Yokomo Stratus
I think a lot of people are going to be suprised by this body!!! It has been tested by several World and National Champs in sevral countries and to a man they said-more planted than a Stratus and could turn more, and faster laps in 5 minutes than the PF Stratus. The only bad thing some sad was that there sponsorships precluded them from running one!!!! Mike Lufaso, Eli Ezrow, Rob Love, etc . all can run any body they want and run the X20 by choice. Expect to see it a lot this coming winter.

I prefer Protoform 2.0 because it is average all around and cheaper than Yokomo.

Finally I made the switch to the Losi. I picked up the graphite convertion kit and a brp front bumper, but what other hop-ups would be ideal for a asphalt track with medimum straights, couple of 90's and a few sweepers? I'm planning on getting the threaded shocks, but looking for anything else!

Here's the part no. 6226 - Wide Front Bumper. You can order it direct from BRP or could get it from your LHS!
Hopes this helps!

As a matter of fact they did!!! On the plus side is they will hold a droop seting, but on the negative is I doubt you'll be able to bend them down to replace the hingepin blocks. Not a huge deal, but still, who wants to take more off the car then you need to!!!

There is not a part numbers for it yet. Todd Hodge said that it WILL have a different part number than the regular one, so you can choose.

mmmm, thats a tough question as we can give you the all out racing answer or the $$$ answer!!! Your choice!!!

If you are going to race and try to be ultra competitive, the answer is you have to get the Graphite kit!!! No questions asked. I personally dont thnk the hingepin blocks are an issue.
On breakage, I dont know that the XXXS has a particular weak spot, but front and rear arms, front hub carriers and steering blocks are always a smart investment before any racing event.

For tuning, get all the springs, including the Trinity Congo line, 2,4 degree caster blocks and the different rear toe in blocks (1/2 and 1 degree) and any optional hingepin blocks.

The rest depends on asphalt, carpet, rubber tires or foam tires!!!

I would try the one-way for all those big Scottish tracks, do you know of anybody who's tried the apex one-way. It looks pretty good but I'm not sure about the wear rate on the metal outdrives
tyres arent a problem....had our last outdoor meeting this year so i'll see how the tyre war is come next year.

apex one way - never seen it in any car...i'd prefer the losi one.

plus the tracks arent that big for a one way!

OBY: Are other cars using one-ways? I would have thought that you'd be running on big tracks if they were for nitros, and Eurpean tracks are in general bigger than US ones.
I would go for the Losi one-way too, it looks much lighter and better designed than the Apex version.
