How thick are the shock towers? 3mm? 4mm? 5mm?

I just bought a set of those speedtech shock towers. Has anybody used them before?

I have a set on one of my XXX-S' and they work great. They're stiff and they look trick. As far as performance, well...they're a direct replacement so they work the same as the stock ones.

TeamPRP:

Since the stock towers are over 5mm thick where the shocks mount, are you providing spacers so the shocks mount up properly?

Default Graphite Chassis

Can anyone confirm whether or not Losi is re-tooling the graphite chassis. My LHS told me to wait until the new one comes out when I went looking for one......

Also, besides taking the inner seals out of the bearings and using all the graphite stuff, is there any other general purpose speed secrets to making this car go faster??? (a larger spur gear with the same gear ratio seemed to help Sunday, but I am not sure that it wasn't just my imagination)

Thanks in advance....

PS - Robert Drew from Whittier, Ca blew the competition away in the AAA Mains Sunday at the Western Shootout at Showtime with his XXX-S

That is the first time I heard of them changing the chassis. I know the latest version has an extra mount in the front for the steering posts on the chassis (make sense?). This was done for the XXX-4.

We should know more by the end of the week what else they have that is new for the car.

now that the new carbon fiber shock towers are on the way, maybe there should also be a carbon fiber battery holder and steering link to match the whole carbon fiber look i just said carbon fiber three times in that sentence (4th time in this one)
oh, also a carbon fiber (5th) transponder mount.

Would you guys like the hardware included with the shock towers? It would increase the price a little bit up front but you would probably save money in the long run because you wouldn't need to buy all the screws and locknuts at retail price.

The hardware would include;
14, 4-40 cap head screws
12, washers(not 100% necessary but a good idea with cap head)
10, 4-40 lock nuts
2, aluminum spacers for the rear tower for shock mounting.

OR, would you rather have flat head screws with blue anodized countersunk washers? It would cost a little bit more, but they look cool

If I was going to get the towers shipped all the way over here I'd like to have all the hardware included, mainly because I can't get any of the hardware from my LHS

The flat head srews and blue washers sound sweet, my XXX-S is going the blue blue RPM ball-cups, blue wheels hexes, blue bellcranks, blue spur adaptor and blue springs on the front.

i wouldnt personally get the towers, purely cos i cant get them without loads of shipping, but i wouldnt recommened you make blue washers etc, people have blue and red cars these days...possibly more, i have some purple on mine as well.

Shipping to England is only $6.00

Also, they will be available with or without hardware. Haven't decided on the final hardware yet, but will probably not do the anodized washers because you are correct, too many colors and a lot of people would not want blue if they have a red car

Thanks!
