tamiya tl-01 question..

turning my kids tl-01 into a drifter..
running just a driftmeister 19t motor with an hpi blitz esc..
which pinion is best to use? the 18t or the 19t
thanks

hi monkee, i think you can only use 19, 21, and 23T pinions. try the 19T.

monkee 05-04-2010 01:56 AM

why did it come with both an 18t and a 19t then?
i dont really know much about pinions and whatnot.
:/

hi monkee, I double checked my TL01, the motor mounts are for 19, 21, 23 pinion (markings are on the motor mount). Tamiya usually sells pinions in pairs of 18/19, 20/21, 22/23.

and on top of that, DONT use the stock aluminium pinions, use rw racing or robinson racing steel ones, then your spur wont wear out!

So true!

stay way from shitty alu pinions.

Get a steel pinion or a hard coated.
