Revolution based stock?
What do you think will orion come out with a stocker based on the revolution motor technology?
|
Why not? The mod has gotten such rave reviews EVERYWHERE!...
Theres money to be made there with a stocker... Stock class still sucks though...:D  |
A stock motr that stays ballistic for more than 2-runs and remains fast for 12 to 18 runs would be Awesome!!!
That would be killer if you coud build the motor and run it from practice till the Mains!!! I could leave my lathe at home. |
it was in one of the latest mags...a review thingy from the nuremburg toy fair...and team orion had a V2 element on show.
i know its spec but maybe they are working on a V2 core stock thingy;) |
Rick Howart posted in the RCCA forum that the design did not work well in stock form and was not any sort of improvement over current design.

Can you post the reason he gave as why the stock form didn't work if there is one?
If the motor even performed as well a the current crop of motors but had the maintenance schedule the mod version has, I would buy one. |
Yep, I agree. IMO, the biggest single advantage of the Revolution over conventional designs is lower maintenance. I can't wait until brushless becomes the mainstream type of electric motor. It's only a matter of time.

Rick Howhart stated on the Orion boards that a V2 based 19t and Stock were in the works, but not until summer at the earliest....
However, he later posted because of production issues and backorders on the V2 based mods, the 19t and Stock versions of were delayed indefinitely... While 19t shouldn't be that big of an issue.....making a stock underneath the ROAR price limits could prove very difficult with the custom endbell while still maintaining the level of profitability a big company like Orion requires.... Only time will tell..... Later EddieO |

Maybe Rick could give a little advice on getting torque from these motors.

I know everyone tests are different but I have found the Orion/Peak motor to have strong rip on the low end and very good top end in my Yokomo CGM and I have run them in my B4. I have raced D5, KR, TI and Core based mods. The V2 is the best mod I have in my box AND kills the other mods in terms of maintence and overall costs. Brush costs alone have allowed me to afford new batts...lol I know these will be the only mods I buy.

hey,
ive seen a peak dynasty 19t with the angled brush's, it was shown at a toy fair in europe, ive seen one in person ( not sure i was meant to see it though:rolleyes: ) it looks nice but i was told that in testing it didnt RIP and that it was no improvment over the standard version!! but it is early days, J-P:sneaky: |
I thought I also read on Orions site that they may release an interum stocker before the V2 stock, but it did say the 19T and stock were delayed, as EddieO posted. I guess its good news bad news for us. If they can just make a stock V2 motor as good as there Core stock, I'd still by one. These guys are supposively getting 40+ runs in mod, so think about a stock V2, maybe 50+ runs or so! That may put a damper on me purchasing a brushless in the near future.
