Hello, I'm David from Spain. Currently I have a XRAY T2' 09 with Mamba Esc + 7700
I want change it.¿What do you recommend me?
And ¿what motor? I was thinking Speed Passion V3 4.5R
I want something better than Mamba, and a similar speed motor.

For mod, speedo doesn't matter all that much. I would recommend the KO PROPO BMC.

I don't know much about mod but for 17.5. Tekin RS with a Express Due 2 is fast.

TEKIN RS PRO is the Esc to go for .Up gradeable through hot wire so you wont need to buy a new Esc every 3 months.Used by many of the top drivers in the world.

Tekin 4.5 or the Novak Ballastic also top notch. Stay clear of the Nosram and LRP X12 although fast they run very hot so drop in performance can be a problem.

4.5 with a Tekin RS? That would be too much power for 99.99% of us.

The X12 runs hot but it's not like any of the other popular motors. We run them at around 200 degrees all day without problems. With the Tekin, they will absolutely demolish any other motor out there.

If you have to run 4.5, don't run the Tekin - it will be too fast. On the otherhand, a 9.5 or 10.5 will be perfect for mod, in most cases.

You can set up the Tekin to do whatever you want. In mod, you don't really need to use the v203 software as the motor will provide the power you need. If you run in any stock type class then v203 will help alot as you can artificially advance the timing of the motor as well as when the timing will be added and at what rate allowing a better gearing selection for power / speed.

You CAN use the 203 software in mod, but it is tremendous overkill. Randy on the other thread says it can work but you would have to be careful doing it as you will smoke motors easily.

The Tekin is adjustable beyond means. Those are what I run. If you don't want to fiddle with the Hotwire, then get something like a LRP SXX or whatever they are for mod. You can just set a simple profile by light flashes and you are done.

Hobbywing Xerun 120SD will run it perfectly fine and wont put a dent in your pocket like some other makes. Best value for performance and money esc available and is capable of running down to a 2.5.
Consistant performance with a nice smooth feel.

Thanks to all.Asphalt circuits, where I run, are very long. All pilots run with 4.5 or 5.5.
Does the turbo works on 4.5?Or only in stock?¿
The Tekin will be worth in comparison with Xerun, on 4.5

Well the Tekin RSpro Specs is with no limit of turns, Not limited to Sensor or Sensorless, Not limited to Brush or Brushless, Smaller footprint, No Fan needed, Multipal Software/firmware to choose from(i usually Choose V200 for Mods<Super Fast>, V203 for Stock<Insane Fast>). Support is always there.

The Speed Passion GT2.0 would be a great choice. With a V3 4.5 and the 205g software, it is a rocket. Also, if you end up running a spec class at another track, Speed Passion has been putting a huge effort into their software program, so with the new beta software, we are as fast as or faster then the Tekin V203.

This software or something like it should be released in the near future.

If you like the Mamba Max then I would suggest trying the Mamba Max Pro. Awesome controller and Castle has great customer support. At $125 they are steal.

I can only imagine that all the responses recommending Tekin didn't read the part saying you want to run a 4.5! Surely it is common knowledge that Tekins will thermal after a couple of minutes when running a 4.5?? If not it should be!

Regarding the MMP, A few people including me have tried it running mod in smartsense and it was dog slow. In Cheat it was a rocket but not proven over a race. I found with 5.5 and cheat both the MMP and Motor were hot very quickly.

As for my recommendation, I am quite bias, but for smoothness and driveability you cant beat the Team Wave RB50 or AE BD if you can get one. The SXX TC is the world champ mod esc so I guess its good too.
