jkirkwood - Thanks!

stilt - It's for rubber tire racing. Not carpet or asphalt specific. I used it on carpet and I plan on racing it at the WC in Germany. Possibly the Reedy if I go.

Good luck on your new direction. The new car looks very interesting and I will we watching with a very close eye. If you need some guinea pigs for the car I would be happy to help out with any testing.

Wow that is a narrow top deck. At what point are cars just not going to have a top deck?

Default CEFX

I plan on running both the Griffin 12 and the Evolution kit next winter.I wish the best for Josh and his family and wish things would have worked out with T.O.P..At first I did not know that Josh will not respond to Pm's and I sent a few emails with no response so I hope that will improve now that he is focusing on CEFX.

Josh the CAD drawings on RedRC look great! Your car designs have always been cutting edge. I remember seeing pics of your front motor Kyosho prototype...and didn't you make one with carbon fiber bulkheads?

Not sure its possible...or how to exactly execute it...but could you make an "open source" chassis? Meaning you could use diffs and suspension parts from several different chassis. So if you had a ton a spares from a 416 and you wanted to upgrade you could buy an Evolution. Or if you have a Cyclone you could do the same and use the same Evolution chassis? You get the idea. The biggest part about switching chassis is that you have to buy all new spares and get a decent stock of everything you need. This way you just buy an Evolution and you're good to go.

Idk...just thinking aloud.

Josh,

Looking at the pics of the prototype, how is the balance of the car? I see you added some lead to make weight and balance. Will you be making and balance weights/trays for the Evolution?

Also it looks as of only the spool will fit in the chassis since the diffs have been flipped...correct?

Josh,

What car manufacture is the Griffen 12 an upgrade to?

Basically who's front-end and shock would you use with this chassis?

Evolution looks great! Will definitely be pre-ordering one in the next couple days.

Couple Questions:
1. Will bodies that are already drilled for the TOP Racing Photon work with this chassis? I see that the chassis has been extended about 6 mm. Does that affect the front and rear shock tower positions or is it just in the rear behind the shock tower (hence the longer belt)?

2. You dont use the weight tray for the Photon anymore on the outside edge of the battery? Does the chassis have mounts for these? Also I noticed that the inner brace from the photon had been removed as well. I grinded off all my tabs from my batteries so being able to use my brace would be nice.

protc3 - I'll call in a few...

Gordie - It's pretty balanced. With a 951 KO servo in the car I have about 20g extra on the right (battery side) than the left. The SP battery I use though is fairly light compared to a Thunder Power pack. With the Thunder Power, it's perfect left/right with the same lead on both sides. With this, the car doesn't need any balancing tray.

bkspeedo - Basically a conversion for the R5. You need R5 front end, side links, center pivot and spring retainers. I personally prefer the Hot Bodies center shock....

cpatel529 - 1. The front holes will be the same but it just depends on where you have your wheel base set. Yes, the rears will be back about 6mm so it's easy to just pop a new hole in behind the existing one in your body. 2. Nope, see the post above to Gordie. I'll see what I can do otherwise...
