I hope this is going to be the new trend where more people compete in the non high-end chassis classes.
No GT-1 class at Nats because too many people during the season suddenly felt that 17.5 with turbo esc was "just too fast". So much for trying to get better and go faster. GT-2 ranks were thinner because most GT-2 regulars that had not bought a Tekin early in the year were waiting for the Nationals rules before buying a new esc. GT-4 (FF03) was originally the past champs race that was opened as a second class option for anyone that wanted to run. So, GT-3 was the largest sedan class during the season and was thus rewarded with a trip to Japan. However, the regular GT-3 drivers mostly abonded the class at the Nationals when the serious GT-1 and GT-2 drivers entered GT-3 (take alook at the Gt-3 A main and you will see the usual GT-1 and GT-2 A main drivers including the Canadian National Champions). Because they like to go slower ? Nope, because that was the trip class. As one of "those drivers" that dropped down to GT-3 at Nats, I sure hope the trip class goes back to the higher end higher speed classes where it belongs so the non-high end chassis slower motor class (GT-3 this year) can go back to a class for the drivers working up the skill ladder or just want to have low cost fun.

I don't think you will ever see the FF-03 as a TRF car... Maybe an FF-03R though...? Anyway, Tamiya just need to make a carbon fibre chassis for us first

Maybe a better place to find what works and how is here:

Rod's FF03 is THE car to beat here in SoCal.

WOW....I assumed there was a ready to go set of CVD's available but it appears that I have to buy the 46mm shafts, axles and hardware all separately.
