I know, but I'd still love to run a 190mm Focus instead of the 200mm HPI I'm stuck with. C'mon! Give a guy a break! There aren't too many FWD Fords for me to choose from

FYI, the WRC (world rally championship) versions of the Focus, Escort, Peugeot 206, Toyota Corolla, Citroen Xsara and Suzuki SX4 are all wheel drive.

But I'm just being picky...

Diggin the drivers, would be killer to see em at the tracks, and can't argue that the rally bodies are much cooler than the fwd bodies.

I just don't really dig the Mondeo. Looks like a damn Contour. I know all the WRC cars were 4WD, but the production vehicles would have been FWD.

'Cos they are the same car!

Mondeo (Monde = world in French) was Ford's first "world car" platform. They gave it a few different details and called it the Contour for the US market.

I think it was something of a failure in the US - a Mondeo is a large family car in Europe, in the US I assume it's seen as rather small.

Sadly touring cars in the UK are a mere shadow of what they were in the 90s, and a shadow of the shadow they were in the mid noughties! Can't think of any cars I'd like to see from the current crop that haven't already been made by someone already. I'm a SEAT owner but find the Leon very uninspiring, especially with that stinking diesel lump under the bonnet.

The only current FWD cars that I find at all interesting are the Renaultsport Clio, and the JDM Civic Type R. Everything else is seriously compromised.

Stick with the re-release shells Tamiya!

I figured they were the Euro verion of the Contour, but I wasn't sure as I've never seen one. For some reason they look larger. Maybe I dislike the Contour so much because I've had to wrench on these nightmares

Gran Turismo series gave good ideas on paint scheme. Anyone painted a Spoon Racing scheme before? It will go nicely with the re-release of civic body, EG6.

i have been trying to find a mondeo body that i could afford since everyone seems to think they are worth $200 on ebay and then i see this one destroyed.
To be fair though, I bought that as it was, and it was painted up circa 1995 when that body was still in production and common in shops. Doing one up like that wasn't exactly a bad thing.

Anyway, someone mentioned a Focus, there's been one in the BTCC running FWD for the past couple of years. This year, it ran a 2L LPG engine with a turbo, and was a rocket in a straight line until ToCA pegged it back with smaller turbo restrictors.
