Tamiya FF03

With the old FF01 we found wheelspin to be a problem, so we ended up running the class with 27T Stock motors.
I am looking to run a similar power plant (Firebolt 15T) and see if I can beat the time I set back then.
Don't want something with lots of low down grunt.

hmm, me say non boosted. But non boosted actually feels like it has more torque. Maybe if you use an ESC like the KO and adjust the frequency at the low end, and adjust throttle exp, boosted might be better. With the weight advantage, I think they will have a faster straight away speed. Can't wait to test it out.
Which brings me to another question: can you gear it the moon?

I was skeptical about the TB03 gearing, but I was able to get down to a 3.2 FDR. Hope tamiya does the same thing for this. But after looking at the gear cover, wonder how big of a pinion you can fit. Granted they even let you use a standard TC spur. And also need to know the internal ratio too. Damn you tamiya, give us more info
Well, the current 17.5 boosted with the RS runs at somewhere between 5.5-6.5, the RS maybe the savior for this car. I'm sure it can at least attain those ratios.

Well depending on price... count me in... time are tight right now... and I already have a FF01 (or 02... I can't remember.. the Calsonic Primera special edition) and a Yokomo YRF2... both ready to race... just need to add batts and a receiver....
this is just unique enough to have grabbed my attention....
I usually buy strange/different/unique RC, and then end up sitting it up on the shelf because of no racing... HPI Super F1, Nitro Mini, Yokomo Mini, Losi 18th Slider, YRF2, FF01, F201... etc....
I'm glad that with the advent of RCGT, that cars like this may actually have a chance to run and be raced finally... I may have to break out my YRF2 and give it a run... but i REALLY dig this FF03...
Announcing the race at Cam this weekend was fun... but I can't WAIT to race again...
