Not opened the 2nd kit yet (was for GF, but she chose GT Pan car instead), so am thinking of building that one using all 3racing parts, then see which of the 2 is better.

Looking at the 3Racing parts list, I think you could build a 3 Racing FF03 without using any Tamiya parts

I did that once before with a TA05

BTW ... 3 Racing were also working on a FWD car last time I spoke to Jacky , the CEO

Well now they have most of the FF03 planned, it shouldn't take them much more to put together the rest of the parts for their own car.
And then I'll have to buy another FWD car

The original CAD drawings I saw made it look substantially different to the FF03

Some 3Racing friendlies got some CAD drawings a few months ago for feedback etc. It looked quite nice.

I recently saw that the CEO has some prototype pics on his FB profile, its looks very trick, quite a few innovative ideas, will be good to see the final outcome.

That is how HPI started out prior to releasing the RS4Pro.

So you're probably right.

With a 3-hole it will give you even more steering and probably to much steering so it will loosen the rear.
Perhaps you could solve this with a harder spring in the front or/and put an extra spacer on the rocker arm. This will make the damper setting a little bit stiffer.
A thicker oil could also help a bit.

Personally i like to drive my cars with a 2-hole damper setting, this will make the car a little bit harder but it always turns out the best for a good steering and a better balanced car at the track.

The DTM TT was not front-wheel-drive... it was rear-wheel drive. It was originaly released on the TA-04SS chassis which has a short wheelbase which is ever so slightly different to the FF-03 medium wheelbase (247mm vs. 245mm)

I have no insight whatsoever on what Tamiya plan to do but I would be surprised to see that shell re-released for the FF-03.
