3) Is it quite expensive to convert a regular FF03 into a Pro/Evo?

4) Would anyone want a regular FF03? I'm trying to figure out if I should buy the FF03 kit (because I'm really after the body), and just part with the rest of the car... I have WAAAAAAY too many chassis I'm upkeeping at the moment...

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

1) No one'd actually know the answer. However, up to this day, there is no rumor concerning FF04.

2)
FF03-Pro released in Summer 2010
FF03-R released in Summer 2012
FF03-Evo released last year in August 2013

3) Converting to full hop ups of FF-03... hmm... perhaps around $150 - $200

4) I think you could always buy the body shell only from Tamiya.
What body you are looking for ??

I was looking for the body set 84311, Accord Aero. I bought one of the last HPI 7037 bodyset a while back, and I also had a PIAA Accord FF01 at that time (NIB) and was taken back at how much more detailed the Tamiya body was. I sold the NIB FF01 to get my money back (broke even for what I paid for), and have been looking for a good Tamiya version ever since.

The HPI 7037, I painted up and using it on my TA05v2, but it's getting really beat up...

I've searched far and wide, the PIAA body set is 100 bucks plus shipping, the Aero is 29.95 plus 20 bucks shipping from Hong Kong, so what I ended up doing was I bought a FF03 Accord Aero kit, with an extra Aero on the side, set of bearings for the FF03 for about 213 bucks shipped from eBay...

So I've been looking at CF chassis just to prep it in case I really get into it, seems like there are the pro and evo route, or 3Racing frp/wo route, or the crazy cool FF11 route...

My immediate problem is choosing which radio/esc/motor combo I need to rip out of my fleet...

Is this car accept 64p 80t xenon racing spur gear and 64p 60t xenon racing pinion gear ?

I am thinking heavily to buy this car lately.... however i would like to have people opinions or more information regarding the lowest number final drive ratio possible. I am looking around 3.0 - 3.3 fdr with hobbywing juststock esc 13.5t.

Should i buy 2 FF03 regular kits or 1 FF03 PRO or 1 FF03 R ?

There are several sellers still sell Honda Accord #84311 in Japan

You may appoint personal shopper services from Japan (added services fees around 10%).

Thanks for the heads-up Clawhammers, I saw those too, I actually saw some more from Asiatees as well, but after shipping, I found that the seller in HK was the cheapest route.

So I picked me up an actual FF03 Honda Accord Aero kit from a domestic seller on eBay for dirt cheap ($159 shipped), and I also placed an order for an extra body from the HK seller (can never have enough of these bodies, better grab them up now than later), and also a bearing set for the FF03.

So now that I'm waiting for my vanilla FF03, I see that there are several options for CF/Graphite chassis:

1) Tamiya Chassis Upgrade kit - which turns it into the EVO version minus the TRF shocks, and it should still pass TCS inspection/tech at the Tamiya track right?

2) 3Racing FF03-24/FRP or /WO chassis, which is in its own world, having the option for fiberglass (FRP) instead of graphite (WO) seems like a cool tuning option

3) Huge RC FF11 - This chassis looks the most trick, and ideal, but I can't find anyone out there who is still selling them

What do you guys think? EVO? 3Racing? FF11? I'm planning on running this at the CalRaceway and Tamiya track, and probably occasionally need to visit TQ Racing...

UPDATE

I would like to revise my answer in Point 1.

Tamiya would release FF-04 EVO simultaneously with Tamiya TRF 419, some times around this winter.

Oh la la..... that is good news to hear FF04 will be released soon in December.

I am looking forward to buy FF04 and race it in TCS Alisio Viejo 2015 together with my sons.

Questions during TCS race in Alisio Viejo :

1. Front Wheel Drive race still use silver can mabuchi and tamiya esc ?
2. Do Tamiya America sell spare parts and tires on the premises ?
3. Do I have to bring my own chairs and table ?
4. Deans connector or banana plugs , are they legal to use in TCS ?

Here you go. These are the rules for TCS off of their website: http://www.tamiyausa.com/tcs/rules.php#.U_TSj_ldVHY

Read through the general rules and then the rules for the particular class that youd like to compete in. Unfortunately the rules have become more and more complicated over the years. All the rules used to be on one page.

To address your questions:
1) Not exactly sure on this so I would check the rules. But I want to say its B/L now
2) Tamiya does sell some parts but you cant always trust theyll have what you need. They mostly sell kits and hop-ups at the races. However, Speedtech R/C usually sells there as well. And Jeff has a pretty good feel for whats needed by the racers and brings that stuff along.
3) Tamiya will usually have tables and chairs available for the racers to use.
4) Yes those plugs are allowed.

Theyre having their U.S. Nationals this coming weekend August 23-24. You should stop by and check it out if you have the opportunity.

Here's a flyer for this weekend. TCS is celebrating 20 Years.

That announcement about trf419 and ff04 evo seems optimistic at best. Tamiya usually do not advance to the next gen of trf cars in such a short period. This will certainly Make lots of 418 owners very unhappy. FF04 evo probably is not going to happen before a kit ff04 either.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the great info regarding the TCS, seems like this chassis is allowed in the FWD and the GT-3 class...

While I wait for my vanilla FF03 kit to arrive, what are some necessary hopups to make it race-worthy? On my TA05V2, I did many of the standard hopups, but what is really necessary for this car to compete at the club-level racing? Let me know what hop-ups you guys used and why... I'm at a fork whether to go all 3Racing parts or mix and match 3Racing, Yeah Racing, and Tamiya stuff...

Consider to use Tamiya manufactured parts only IF you plan to join TCS race.
