Default Carpet Setup

Hey guys,

In a few weeks we have our first race indoor on carpet and
I do not have raced my ff03 since nearly a year. Last race was outdoor
on tarmac and i had raced onky with kit setup. Is there anybody
outside with a nice starting setup for carpet? With the scirocco body
would be perfect. It's a 17.5 blinky and on ride 32.

Hope really someone could help me.

Thx in advance.

For the tamiya Asia cup held in Korea this year (in-door carpet, medium sized, technical), top winners used the eg civic body shell. There were a couple in contention using the sirocco but the top 2 finishers ran the civic.
I guess it all depends on the size and layout of the track. The civic likes short technical tracks while the sirocco seems to be at home at long wide flowing ones.

Short clip of my FF03R with a boosted Fantom Ionv4 17.5 with 5.61 gearing... All others on track are also 17,5 boosted but they are 4wd...

Car is Boxstock!!! Love this car!!!

Default MazdaSpeed 3 Body?

Man the FF03 is such a fun car. We ran ours this past weekend with a 21.5 brushless motor and this car handles beautifully! I would love to run mine with a MazdaSpeed 3 body to match my real life car. Does anyone know if anyone makes a MS3 body?

I have raced the FF03 in our blinky 17.5 class. Now I race the S411FF. Like you, I have a 08 speed 3 and I have look all over the place for a MS3 body but without luck I haven't look for the current gen of the MS3 shell but I highly doubt it is available out there.

Made my race debut last weekend with my FF03r here in Sweden. I put it in 20th spot out of 26. We run boosted 17.5. Had problems with rear grip all day long, it was just to grippy in the rear end. Had no problem following the 4wd in the fast sections, but in the hairpins I couldn't get it to "slide" round the corner. Car is almost box stock, just a rear carbon tower mounted.

So now I couldn't resist buying the new Tamiya carbon upgrade chassie kit when I saw it at rcmushroom.com

So the spec for the future is gonna be new carbon chassie and shorty lipos to get it down closer to 1350gr as the regulation states. Now it weights in at 1429gr with Tamiya titanium screw kit, front carbon brace, carbon shock tower, carbon bumper top plate, carbon servoprotector, carbon radio tray.

It's a blast to race this car......

How is the serpent s411FF compared to a FF-03r on the track?

I like both cars. The serpent is easier to get the front setup then the FF03. Not a big fan of IFS suspension on the FF03. The Ff03 need carbon enforced chassis to be competitive on carpet while the serpent feel at home on carpet without additional option parts.

Then the new carbon chassie might help me then... And the new steering on that might sharpen it up a little!!

Nice. Look like it has lower rocker section than the FF03R. Not sure if the new update chassis will be stiffer then the carbon enforce tub chassis.

Let us know how it goes in the new year

Merry Christmas to you all

I picked mine up a few weeks ago in Tokyo during a trip. RC Champ had a lot for ~14000 yen. rcmart has them now as well. I drove mine for the first time yesterday. Very happy.
