Hi,
just finished building my tcx and was wondering what position is best for the rear hubs (wheelbase), short or long. The kit said short, same as the tc but most people used to run long. Also when in the short position the driveshafts seem to be very angled,
any thoughts?

1) How many screws do you need to remove to change the spur gear?
2) How did you mount the Lipo battery? Is it "shoe gooed" into place? I can't see any mounting posts or tape.

For mounting the battery you either use the supplied 'lipo locator' (the plastic strap and guard thing + alloy posts) or you use tape (not supplied) - the slots to use are the end triangular ones.

Can someone confirm this? I.e. - that "540" style brushed motors won't fit? So we can only run brushless motors in these cars?
Thanks for the posting the pics! I have some questions:

My TCX is on order. Any recommend upgrades I should buy to improve strength and performance? Does anyone have a base setup for low grip asphalt?

except 3 hole 1.1 pistons, 40wt oil frt & rear - lengthened the shocks to get a bit more droop ft & rear (5mm on a Hudy gauge), I measure the distance between shock case and top of ball end cup, this was 12.6mm.
Shock top mount in holes 3 front & rear.
1.5 camber ft & 2 rear
As for strength, they are very strong out of the box.

Just finished kitting mine all out and it weighs in at 1329g with GM motor, Tekin RS Pro, Ko Propo PDS-2367 and IP 5600mah 50C lipo. This is a serious improvement on my Moorespeed Cyclone which was about 30g overweight. I've checked the balance and it seems that actually the battery side has a greater moment around the centreline so I might have to add some masses behind the motor to balance it out.
This is with the kit totally as standard apart from the pistons which I've changed for the 3 hole items. I imagine that further significant weight savings could be made by replacing the steel turnbuckles and screws with titanium versions and replacing the spool with a Litemodz version.
