Hi,

just finished building my tcx and was wondering what position is best for the rear hubs (wheelbase), short or long. The kit said short, same as the tc but most people used to run long. Also when in the short position the driveshafts seem to be very angled, any ideas?

I’m interested in getting a TCX, but I have a few questions regarding the kit. I’m currently running the tamiya 416x, it’s an excellent car. But my main problem with the tamiya the front drive shafts and spool outdrives are very weak and i keep breaking them.

My question is, do you think the TCX is a stronger car than the 416x? Is anyone having any problems with the car?

V.3 spool mounted on the TCX is definitely stronger on the market .

Yup, they have 2 holes that work with the Cyclone and 416 spur hub.

Any bright ideas about how to get to the inner motor screw (i.e. the one hidden behind the spur) if your spur doesn't have access windows in it?

As it stands, to change a pinion I'll have to: fit the pinion, put the motor in the right position using the outside screw, remove the top deck, remove the spur, do up the inner screw, replace the spur and top deck.

p.s. I know other cars have this layout... including x-rays... but I have no experience as the cyclone-black had motor screws above and below the pinion.

Drill a 4mm hole in the spur gear like many other drivers already did. Easy and cheap.
Never leave any loose screw on a RC car, especially the motor's ones.

Yeah, I figured that might be the only option. I'll have to get a bigger spur. I wanted to use a 96 tooth (64 pitch), but my 4mm hole would have drilled out the teeth

Thanks.

If it's that close, would a ball-tip wrench work?

Makes things easier, but I still needed to put holes through the spur. There is so little space.

Thanks Agno. If it works for you, it should for me.

The v3 spool is a hot bodies part and is very durable. i think its standard on the TCX. Correct me if i'm wrong about it being standard on the TCX.
