Default Smokem chassis

just wanted to throw out a word on the Smokem chassis.
Couldn't find the HB lipo chassis...so I decided to buy the Smokem chassis.

cut quality is fantastic, everything lined up perfect.
Gave the car a bit more steering, felt very planted. I thought the chassis would create a traction roll problem but worked very good on mid-high bite carpet
The original chassis was good but this makes the car feel more direct.

you won't need much to get this car working great. The car is great out of the box.
probably
2.5, 1.5, 1.0 toe blocks
spring set
3 hole pistons
front steel bones (must get these)

optional
lower shock towers
gear diff

that's pretty much it...

Hi,

What do the 0.5deg and 1.0deg pivot blocks do handling to the car when mounted front rear or rear front ? what surface are they best used for asphalt/carpet ?

Thanks

I haven't gotten my hands on a set of Jet racing split blocks. need to order a set for sure. Next thing on my X-mas list.

I ordered the chassis direct from Smokem
http://www.smokem-racing.com/Home.html

Believe I will make it to the SlowBirds this year. I am sure our paths have crossed before. Looking forward to meeting.

and are you running all the screws in the top deck? I know I removed a couple to make some better rear traction outside - haven't run mine inside on carpet yet

Yes...It's Orlando

with the original chassis. I removed 2 screws from the rear, everything else installed.
the biggest changes from outside to carpet was the roll centers. removed all shims under the rear blocks.
0.5 shims in the front.

with the Smokem chassis, decided to run all upper deck screws. Chassis produces more flex but very even front to back.
