To bad the guys running carpet at our local track cant seem to keep them together or we would use them. I hope HB comes out with dcj's to work with the TCX.

They have. They are 44mm long DCJ's. I have been running them without any problem. The only thing needed to make them work is the TCX locked front oneway. That's it. You could also go with a Spec-R front gear diff. They also work with the 44mm DCJs

this is not a good option if you're just an average racer. these parts are too weak....they may last a little while...but the axle will snap (made from aluminum or steel). again the actual axle will snap itself apart. I snapped two running 17.5 non-boost.
very pricey mistake.
if you're going to mod either go with steel
TOP, Yokomo or do the Mira/Xray ESC conversion.

there is a reason most companies make the outer axle in steel.

Just do what I did and run the HPI 46mm steel drive shafts. Gets over the issue with the OEM parts and no fussing with other manufacturer bits. cheaper to !!!!

It's not about going steel. it's about less chatter and corner speed. If you've never driven a car with ECS's or DCJ's you wont see the difference. I love running oem parts but the only car that is available where you can run oem parts appears to be the Xray as long as you dont want to run a gear diff.

It would be great if they could make one that will work with the stock spool i like the simple clean setup. it would seem to make sense to build those but many companies dont seem to make sense very often. For now i'll follow my local fast guy that drives a TCX (Mike Haynes) and run the top stuff and xray stuff. I have lot's of top parts to it makes sense for me.

ECS dont make the car faster, and can often make the car understeer or feel slow in response. Theres a reason why most of the top level drivers dont use them, Andy and Hara included! Not even the Xray drivers From my person experience they are ok in the slower classes, but in mod I definatly wouldnt recommend them. They also fail more than std driveshafts.

Ant: I agree we tend to run slower classes here in our area. Very few mod races ever happen. The first mod race that will happen in our area is the asphalt nationals. I can definitely say that i will not be running mod. I'm more of a 17.5 boosted and 17.5 non boosted driver.

Thats fair enough then and they should work well in 17.5 boosted. I wish I could race on carpet, in Aus its Asphalt 99% of the time. So it could be a differnt story on carpet were smoothing the car out would be good. The car works really well on Asphalt anyway
