Heres the problem my car battery is only 2000 mAh and when i turn on the car and give it some throtle the tires will spin and then slow way down and come to a stop then the motor just makes a low squeeling sound like any motor does when the wheels are hung up. Do you think the battery is just done for?

How long did it take the battery to peak, and what amp rate did you charge at?

i don't know what it peaked at but i think it is charging at 1 amp or somthin like that

1 amp is a little low, you could try bumping it up to 4. What I meant is, how much time (minutes, hours, etc) it took to charge.

Ok the charger is a hobbico 900 and it says one amp up by where you put in the fuse it says one and it is a 15 minute charger.

Are you sure the motor isn't hung up? Bad brushes? Grime in motor?

Yep, try cleaning out the motor. Also, 15 minutes at 1 amp isn't even close to a quarter charge.

I am gonna go in and get my motor cleaned out my a guy I know that does a good job cleaning them out then I will pbobably just buy like a 3000 mAh battery.

before buying a new battery, charge it at 4 - 4.5 amps and see what happens.

2000 packs can be charged up to three times it's capacity but it's recommended that you charge it 2x it's capacity, 2000, charge at 2.00 amps, 4.00 amps or 6.00 amps

When I first got started in RC, I had the same charger. I usually just charged it for 30mins and it seemed to last alright. But, if you do that, keep feeling the pack for any heat. If it starts getting warm, stop charging it because it's done.

That charger won't work with 3000 NiMH packs. Instead of buying a 3000, get a peak detection charger. You can get a Mega Peak for around $35. I used to have one of those, too. Never had a problem with it, then I got my Tekin BC112c, and now a Turbo 35.

Toup the amps i just have to buy a bigger amp right. And since I only have 1 amp can i just restart the charge again or not..

Hey bigbad...: That 1 amp that you see up by the fuse probably isn't what the charger is charging at, thats probably the rating of the fuse, so you know what to replace it with incase it blows. I know, back in the day, I had a charger similar to the one you have.

Check the charger manual or the company website to see what amp rate the charger charges at. For that type of charger, its probably 4amps.

Bigbad - that 1A is not the charge rate, it is the type of fuse that is in there. I have a few of those chargers. I found that the optiumum time to charge a 2000 pack on one of those was at least 30 minutes, maybe 35 if needed. Try that.
