I got a reply that left me with a different conclusion! I'm sending mine off next week.

I was told by Per that it's release to the public will be soon!

Well at least they seem to be making up for it. I gave the new software a run at a clubbie today to start working it out. I ran a 5.5 in mod so performance was boost dependent and got some good results. Temps are still very good with the new system however it is capable of considerably more top end and better still tunable balance between bottom, mid and top end so you can match performance and temps to your tracks conditions. Brakes are stronger than before and have less "fade" as you slow down. Still very good to drive just like the old system.

We dont want to hear what it can do , we have been hearing that since testing in 2010 .its now 8 months since it was going to be released , what the racer wants to know WHEN .Also will it be downloadable or will Esc have to go at further cost to the racer. Spent 21 on first return.

The ESC has to be returned for upgrade. I am told that this helps prevent other companies examining the firmware for themselves and perhaps gaining something. As to when.. I have been told that the version that we have is pretty much the final version so I would think it will be public soon. I would suggest sending an e-mail and seeing if you can have yours updated.

Default Ae black diamond with corally pro red

Guys, just picked up one of these 2nd hand, planning on running it with a corally pro red 13.5t.

What can I expect with this thing? Only running it indoors on approx 30mtr straight so top end not a real issue. Currently running a hobbywing xtreme and make car is like a missile down the straight, just a little bit of a beast on the infield!

At West London I'm geared at 3.90 with that combo.

The BD gives smoother mid control, but be prepared for massive low end grunt, you might have to add some negative throttle expo.

So would a starting ratio of 5 be ok for ardent? Also, what profile setting would you start on?

With the 13.5's we always run profile 5.

You might want to gear slightly lower than that, but indoors the motor was always around 60degC.

I'm glad you, and other 1/12 racers think so. Because I got mine very cheap. Outstanding in TC with a Graupner. And its only got 1 button. Less is more. Pure Joy.

Default 50

Thats a great price, but will cost you another 20 plus to send back and return, plus you still need a booster or receiver pack unless thats one of the upgrades. So original buyers paid 200 plus been upgraded twice so thats 40 plus for upgrades. Its a good Esc but they are taking the pz now with return to base for upgrades.

Booster and receiver pack please explain! Running 2s so wouldn't have thought I'd need a receiver pack? it has got one hell of a capacitor already on it, will this be the booster?

No, a booster or Rx pack is only needed for 1s applications.
