Anyway BD went surprisingly well.... The best attribute was the throttle characteristics. The motor follows throttle inputs much like an old style speedo so you have the ability to alter your cars attitude in and out of corners far more than the "traction control" or "switch" behavior of every other speedy I have run (except senna's tekin cause it is "special"). Use is fairly simple to as you gear for speed or grunt. From my days exp I found just gear to match or be slightly slower than who ever you are racing... you will come off stone cold and decimate them out of every turn. The brakes lacked strength but I have not played with brake profiles yet so I may be missing something. Might go do some laps out the front now and work on that...

I think the reason I had problems with it first time I used it was the motor was dead so I had no chance getting anything useful out of the testing.
Good to hear it went well Troy, I'm trying the BD out this weekend with the SP10.5, looking forward to it... I need big brakes tho

Default up date on Novak Ballastic 13.5

Nothing to report ,test was a dud. What i did learn car is dog slow, was almost 1 sec off the pace of my 10.5 and 2 laps. Now this might be the norm but was expecting the car to be fairly close to my 10.5.
I was the only 13.5 running amongst the 10.5 so was hard to compare.

The Roll-out is a little low from what I run. I am closer to 3.0

I had the BD on the track today for the first time and was really happy with how it went. Running the speedpassion v3 10.5 motor with can timing maxed and the speedie on profile 5, I started the day at 5.5fdr and ended up at 5.3 with good top and bottom end. Even with drag brake on the temps were well in check so I could probably go another tooth or two next time out. I've run both tekin and venom (hobbywing) recently and the BD held it's own, and all without a laptop

Hi guys, i'm looking for a good condition BD with V2 firmware (not the low profile version). If anyone is selling, do drop me a pm. This esc looks really good and would love to try one.

Chris,

are you running 12th scale or TC??

x12 10.5, run profile 4 over 5 and 00 or 0000 and gear high seems to work good.

I have a x 12 lrp 10.5 but finding it dies 6 mins in the run cells are good as i can run a gm 10.5 with no problems bar it being a little slower tried the above inserts geared on 47-60 no difference other people are having no probs but they are running the lrp esc mine is the v2 version.Sent the motor back to the distributer to check it but they say no problems.Best run was +5 timing gave the punch back to it on 0000 no punch even in mode 5.
Any ideas

I have a BD in my TC as well as my 12th. I can not get either my x-12 10.5 or 17.5 to work unless I ran max timing. With max timing you get stupid temps. My tip is sell your x-12 motors and get something wih better top end. The BD with give you the same bottom end of the x-12 with any motor bit you will have more top end. Try the SP if you can live with the plugs but the Novak or Duo are good. Also the new orion is very nice.

Of note I ran 10.5 today in my 12th against a 4.5 and of course he had more punch but the same top speed on a big straight. I ran 65mm on profile 5 with a duo 1 with 10 degrees on the motor. I don't bother temping 12th scale but I could hold onto the motor for as long as I like after a run. I also managed more than a full second a lap quicker lap time over a 21.5sec average lap.

Default AE BD Esc Receiver packs and motors

Ive done intesive testing in 1/12th with a 10.5 and a 13.5 .Tried various motors.
GM ,LRP X12 and Novak Ballastic. I found the Novak was the best for the BD.

As regard receiver pack i use the epic 220ma life cell and its excellent can do 3-4 runs of 8 minutes comfortable and still have power to spare..
