I need the model number for the new CH12 bumper.

Any other new stuff we should know about/that should be added to the BMI web site?

Default Shur Lube

Guys - It's all coming back to me. I went through this search last year and found my notes. Then to verify, I emailed Rob Murdock about his product.

Sad News - No published info on the weights for Shur Lube and they won't be putting that out there for someone else to replicate. I can definetly see his interest in protecting his product. It is a solid system and performs very well.

As a racer I guess we have to expect that at some point, not everything will be divulged. After all, it is racing? For those of us that would like to compare our setups to other club members or pro setups that are using a different product, just won't work. If you want to perfectly match Jason's BMI setups, you will need to be using Shur Lube.

CRC did change over there system to offer 5K, 10K, 20K and 30K on their product instead of the "heavy", "extra heavy" etc.

I did ask Rob about the Shur Lube increments of #1 @5000wt and going up 5000wt each step to #6 (as Chad had stated in a previous post). He said this was not really even close to the correct increments.

I guess if you know when to use #3 and when to change over to #4, who really cares what name or number it has? Just can't swap info with others as it doesn't translate.

Later

I was thinking of running the servo in the forward position, but it was rubbing on the arms. What changes would I expect from moving the servo forward on my CH12FE?

Someone could send a pack of Shur Lube to Team TWF8 and they could get us the values in centistokes.

Haha! Figures!

If the product is superior, it will sell on its merrits alone. Releasing the viscosity info on the product is not going to change that. Shurlube has the advantage of being color-coded. This is something that no one else offers and would still be a competitive advantage. Just like with shock springs on my real car, if the manufacturer does not list or is willing to provide spring rates, they don't get my business. I'll stick with my Losi lubes in known 5K increments.

I hate sarcasm on a screen, you can't see the face behind it

Yep! I tend to agree with your view. I like having a numbers based selection system - color coded or not. Just seems to make more sense when tracking setup with any part of the car! Seems easier to compare notes with other racers and try to learn something. I used the Trinity "red stuff", "purple stuff" etc. in the past. Same issue, I'll stick with the 5K, 10K, 15K type system as well.
