Getting my car ready for our first race at the new track tomorrow and I finally got around to trying something I've been wanting to do for awhile now. I put an o-ring around the top and bottom arms on the NFE to take up all the slop in the pivot balls. Now my front end droop will be actual arm movement instead of play in the pivots. Since both arms move together it doesn't seem to make the suspension bind any. We'll see how it works tomorrow

Wow...Got the front end completely put together now and with the o-ring on the suspension arms and cotton in the ball cups there is absolutely 0 play in the front end and it still moves freely. I have never felt a front end that felt this precise. I'm really curious now how the car will run tomorrow!

Yeah cotton in the ball cups...same idea as using a piece of a plastic bag but I like it better.

I haven't ran a flat servo since the DB12R All though I have been considering trying a flat servo with the new front end. Has anyone else tried a flat servo with the new front end yet?

As for the play...I would say it is the othe way around...having play is going to make the car wander more as things shift around. For the o-ring idea...well my car's setup today was a bit off. The track is really bumpy so I am still working on finding balance front to rear. I think I am going to need to run more droop all around. Currently I am only running .5mm in the front and rear. I also want to go to the blue rear spring but the last time I tried the car bottomed out badly on the banked corners. Maybe a thicker oil with more droop will help. As for the o-ring idea that seemed to work out just fine. The one I used is snug but not super tight so everthing still moves smoothly. The arms still fall just as easily under their own weight as before but now my front droop is actual arm movement rather than play in the pivots. Did it help or hurt or do nothing? I think it is too early to tell right now.

My biggest problem is getting the weight balanced out in the car so it was pulling to one side all day and I wasn't sure if it was the balance or the diff. I didn't get a chance until after the race day to check the balance and it was off. I really have a hard time getting the car right on balance pins and balance buttons. But I've got an idea on that too...just gotta get around to building it

But the car performed flawlessly right from jump. Set up wasn't too different than on my DB12RR except for the laydown servo position. This is the smoothest car that I've EVER ran. Corner speed with this thing is phenomenal!! Everyone was pretty much even in the speed department, but where my car stood out was with the corner speed. I didn't change a thing all day except for gearing. Set TQ and won. I just wished MORE of our faster drivers were out running but yesterday was a really good gauge. I don't get to run even half as often as I would like to, so its nice to have a raceday where all you're thinking about is driving.

Jason...I don't even know where to go from here. Maybe I'll just try different shit to see what works or doesn't/ what makes the car better or doesn't....ya know
I can't wait to see what the mad-hatter has coming down the pipe

I have my servo flat and my car feels really smooth up front. Maybe on a long practice day I will compare both servo positions. A few things change when you do that though....not to mention the change in balance of the car.
