No worries...your 17.5 motor will be entirely legal for the event.

Looking forward to meeting/racing with you guys. Make sure OD finds his way into the car for the trip up.

We are trying to get O.D. there he has said nothing but great things about you. (so many that I thought you were his imaginary friend)
He wants to get up to Washington to test his newest creation a lipo friendly OD12 he calls the "spin cycle"
Crashby, Michael, Tim Copp, and I will be taking up pit space at Timezone I'm not sure about Jim Rose? It will be like the "founder's" of 1/12 scale!

Default Receiver Battery

Hello,

Hopeing someon can help me out. I found this battery at work, it has the following details on it.

3.75v
.589Wh
Lithium Ion Poly

Could this be used to power the servo on a 12scale?

I currently run the Novak booster, but due to space limits I am finding it difficult to put everything on there nicely. so basically want to remove the booster and try this battery.

Any help would be great... thanks

You need a 2S battery with a regulator. The battery you are showing is basically the same voltage as what your main pack will produce and this is not enough for some recievers to work and it will make your servo slow.

A lot of people use the losi 180mah 2S pack from the micro-t.

if you have 2 of these, then just wire the 2 in series and you got enough to run as a rx pack. you will need a voltage regulator for some band of electronics

Thanks Theisgroup and Casper, think I will just stick with what I have and figure out a nice way to wire things up.

Anyone know what the smallest ESC is for brushless, is it the LRP SXX?
What other options are out there?

ACTUALLY...he could run it in series between the battery input to the esc (or from the battery plug itself) through his LiIon battery and into the receiver. He would still need a regulator so he really hasn't decreased the volume of "stuff" in the car, in fact it would be (arguably) increased.

One of our racers is doing pretty much exactly this--using a small capacity cell inline between the 1s battery pack and the receiver rather than a booster.

Right now it seems that the Tekin RS is the smallest ESC including the power capacitor.
