I've used brake cleaner in the past...CRC Brakleen specifically. You can get it at just about any auto supply store. I don't recall it being a problem on plastics, but I only used it on motors so I can't say for sure.

Careful with picking up auto parts stuff as they can melt plastic. The stuff in the gold cans at Advance Auto is the same as the hobby shop-grade cleaner.

I get the blue brake cleaner from walmart, and it works well.... I clean my firearms with it as well. Whichever you get, make sure it is NON-CHLORINATED brake cleaner.

I use CRC QD Electric Parts Cleaner from the Wal-Mart automotive aisle. It is 1/2 the price of motor spray and works well. Does not ruin plastics either.

Any electronic contact cleaner. Found at Radio Shack, Leow's, Home Depot, Auto parts store. Should evaporate quickly. Online orders Tower Hobby I think still supplies the cleaner.
