Let me know you thoughts. The car have very quick and stable change of direction and seems to have no loss in speed due to the belt having an extra bearing to go round.

Just my observation, and I am no car designer...but the motor mounts moves the motor up and down. This will raise and lower the motor in the chassis when using a smaller spur or pinion. Has moving the motor, the heaviest thing in the car, change the handling much?

You are right. Moving the motor up and down will have a small effect. This can be overcome by having a few spurs. As you change the pinion for a bigger one, change the spur for a smaller one.

I have found a company that makes belts. They are identical to the xray belts and they have a huge selection of sizes.

On the front where the bearing is for the front belt to come from the bottom of the front diff going back to the layshaft, does that sharp angle have any effect on drag or belt wear?

I assume there is a little drag but not enough to notice on the track.

And I'm not sure about wear yet as I've only done about 20 runs so far.

looks like you have reinvented the wheel the Xray t2 FOC edition had the same layout, and with a split at the rear of the top deck had no need for the bearing roller you have just before the front spool....however I always like the layout lots.

there is a big difference between the xray style and his. His has the belt running completely above the top plate, this will allow the electronics to be moved in closer to centerline of the car, should balance it better without so much weight hanging out to the sides of the chassis, nice design, where can I buy one?
