Default Help needed please :(

Hi guys, im having a problem with the set up of my car, the electric side is 0.5mm higher than the lighter lipo side. ive checked tweak and its all fine, stripped car right down and rebuilt and chassis was perfect.

Im not sure if this is normal but its dosnt seem right to me?

Thank in advance for any help!

Could be side to side weight balance.

Put the car on two pin stands and then you'll see if it's really balanced.
But this may not be the problem. Do you have equal tension on springs left to right? Equal shock rebound? All these affect the car's listing to one side.

Yes everything is perfect, shock length, rebound, pre load???

Im lost with what it can be?? im thinking maybe a bent arm or somthing making the car lean on one side?

but it seems to change i centre of chassis

Common problem would be uneven shock springs. Just adjust the preload to get the chassis level and then check the tweak.

Don't get too hung up on the whole "everything is perfect" thing. Obviously everything isn't perfect, or the car would be straight.

re: shocks: if the ball ends aren't screwed on the same, that will change the length of the shock. Did you measure all 4 shocks off the car to see if they're the same? Also, you cna move the shocks around (swap them around) to see if you can make the other end higher.

Methodically measure everything, and you'll find the answer.

Ok ive measured everything, i do this before building also but ive rechecked, all shocks are same length, roll bars are fine, rebond perfect.

Now as somone suggested ive just bought tamiya springs and one seems to be around .5mm out?? there quite hard to get a exact measurment on tho but ill try hpi springs again!

Thanks for all this advice guys

Ya, if everything checks out, then don't be afraid to take up the difference w. preload, like the other poster suggested.

If Droop and everything else is fine, It is probably bent wishbones or mounts for them, I cannot think of anything else

Ok, im just putting HPI springs on as we speak so ill see if that changes anything.

One thing to note is when i put on blocks theres a gap on the lipo side but this is without lipo when lipo is on its fine so im persuming this is just a weight issue?

if this dont checkk out ill replace wishbones etc!

Thanks guys

PS i thought it was really bad to have opposite pre load on springs? is there a limit to how much difference?

I had a recent problem with a used car I bought. After investigation I found that the shock ball ends were different lengths. The shocks measured the same length, but the spring perches sat at different levels. Good thing to check.

I may of sorted it, ive always took it you needed pre load to be exactly the same, if i screw down the lipo side 1/4 of a trun more its pretty close now?
