Hey Chuck,

I have not gotten one of the Link WGT cars yet but I would start close to what my 12th scale setup is. The only difference would be heavier dampning, shock oil and one step up on springs on the side.

The Gate opens up on the 10th and I just wanted some kind of idea of where to start. Any idea of a spur gear?

thanks

My kit just showed up. I saw additional front springs, how about side and shock springs. The 1/12th setup book for a t-bar car is included, why?

The non Link is a T Bar Car.

I'm using the CRC 12th Scale Bladder Shock. There is a good selection of Springs.

You can run CRC Side Springs as well. Good selection.

John,

What did you use to move the rear body mounts out? I have associated side springs, do they work?

thanks

John modified the CRC wide body mounts to fit the Xray.

Not sure about the AE side springs, if they are the same as the CRC's they should work.

Chuck the AE side springs do work fine. I actually raise my cross brace on my cars so that there isnt so much pre load on the side springs. You'll need about a 1.5mm spacer to do it. And you'll probably have to raise the top plate that much also to keep the side shock from hitting.

Chuck

These are the CRC Wide Mounts - http://www.teamcrc.com/crc/modules.p...prodID=7719033 that I ground down to fit. I also raised the Body / Spring mounts to take the preload off the springs. I'm using CRC Side Springs but I also just got some Associated Side Springs to try.

Ordered the CRC piece and springs yesterday. The Gate opens on the 15th. We set up a new layout the other night and are going to be running backwards, that ought to be interesting. I'll let you know how it goes.

thanks

How much did you raise the spring mounts by? I may try that.
