Default Definition of a spec motor?

What's everyones local track or clubs definition of a spec motor?

I find that quite a few people last season at our track, and in our club altered their spec motors.

Personally i like the idea of a sealed motor, exact replacement brushes and springs only.

Our spec class ran 19t chameleon motors, but by the end of the year people where using 19t epic motors that i don't even think are roar legal. They used different springs, brushes, and who the hell knows what they were doing to the insides.

Is this a common happening and just the way it is everywhere?

Thanks.

Oh, and i understand different places use different turns as spec motors, but the same rules should apply.

you can check out the roar rules for the official word.

Personally you should give the Reedy Quad Mag a try . This I beleive was approved by ROAR for 19 turn spec class. From what I have seen, this is one really powerful motor. Much better than the Binaries.

a motor of 19 turns with non adjustable timing of ROAR aproved specifications and as of now all binaries are not legal for the fact timing can be change and the Quad magnet design doesn't meet one of the specfic rule of the spec class
